So my hubby is getting laid off again, and will be looking for a new job, and hopefully this time he will really look for one. When he gets a new job he is going to try and find one that has an overnight shift so that one of us can be home with the girls. Until then his father is still going to be paying for our medical insurance so that the girls and I can be covered.

Praying that he finds a job that he is happy in :prayer:

Thanks, he gets laid off every year, but this year it is 3 months earlier, maybe he will finally listen to God and his dad and find a new job. He can look for one while I am home between routes, there are about 5 hours between route times.

Oh i feel so sorry for women who get treated like werido's just because they are going back to work after there bubs is born.

From the sounds of it the fact that your having a whole year off before going back doesn't seem like a big deal to me. So i dont see why people should treat you like you've just said the most repulsive and offensive thing in the world.

I think at the end of the day it's a personal choice and you have to feel comfortable with it.

I won't be returning to work till my bub starts school, this is a choice my husband and I have made because we feel it's best for us and our children.

however this doesn't work for many people, i have friends who say they got bored or tired of all the baby conversation and they missed being around adults.

there's also the fact that alot of people need the money, eg single parents and such.

it's funny because the reaction you get when you say your retuning to work after a year is the same i get when i say i'm staying at home till bubs goes to school. alot of people think that it's a totally insane concept to actually want to be at home with your kids for that long.

go figure

Hey, folks,

I wanted to recommend a book: "Women Leaving the Workplace: How to Make the Transition from Work to Home" by Larry Burkett

I just read it and found it very helpful and realistic. It's a bit old-skool (written in 1995), and maybe slightly biased in some ways. It not only addressed how to make it work to stay home, but also the fact that some women aren't cut out for it.
