When I was a child, I would be excited when my father came back home with a deer he shot while hunting. I would watch him cut up it all up in the garage. I would even poke the skinned deer carcass as it hung from the ceiling. Those were the days.

I was more of an MTV's Head Bangers Ball and Gilligan's Island kind of guy.

MTV Head Bangers ball? Was that like a heavy metal music video marathon? Think that fit the early 90s Howard Stern aesthetic somewhat.

I used to be very blonde and had blue eyes. Over time, my colors changed like a chameleon. If there's any indication from my family history, it's likely my hair will get darker and curlier and my eyes will remain to be a hazel-color for now.

Yeah me too. Although I think my change was more dramatic. Went from an Aryan looking kid to a Jewish looking one by the time I was 8, lol.

I guess. I get most of my looks from my Mother's side. So some of it would be expected, lol. My father's side look more German.

Head Bangers Ball was on Saturday nights from like 10 pm until midnight or something like that. It was 2 or 3 hours of Metal videos. The 80's version was pretty good but by 91 it sucked. It went to death metal and grunge.

Gilligans Islans is a classic. Watched it everyday after school.

Cool. I remember listening to this radio show that played Metal on Saturday nights as a kid. Even black metal.

Not sure why it would suck after '91. Metal was at it's peak in the 90s, lol. Black metal fully developed, Death metal got more technical and refined, grunge.. eh it's alright sometimes.. lol. (also grunge isn't metal.. lol)

People who did not grow up in the 80's think metal was like Metallica but Metallica was not even cool until like 89 or 90 and only because they cam out with a slow song.

The stuff we listened t was Motley Crue and RATT and Def Leopard, AC/DC, and then a bunch of new metal pop came along like Cinderella and Winger and Slaughter and a bunch of glam stuff. But there was still cool stuff like Black Crows and Guns and Roses and LA Guns (even if they never became really famous) but then Nirvana came along and ruined it all.

Anyway, I don't even listen that it much any more. I prefer the stones and Christian music.

Metallica was part of 80s metal. At least their more thrash sounding days. I watch 1980s talkshows and the like, they talk about Metallica, they definitely had a presence then.

Can vouch for metallica during the 90's, my older step brother listened to them and Guns N' Roses a lot, and I remember AC/DC having a comeback tour in the 90's, but I never got into the other bands you mentioned. I was too young to enjoy most, although now I definitely like older music, except some stuff in the 70's and 80's is pretty sketchy. Basically, my musical preferences hates the hipster crowd (their excessive use of ukuleles makes me want to shoot myself), most pop music today, and it skips over that weird period when American music was going through a phase before delving into the grunge and alternative of my own generation. To me it just sounds like later generations forgot how to make good music, among other things.

That much is true. Easier said than done like most things in life, of course, to trust in God's ultimate decision regarding this matter (you aren't alone in this right now, Lizzy; I myself had a bit of a hard time the last few months accepting that a particular lady I was drawn to is not God's choice for me, even when I knew all along quite confidently that she wasn't ^-^ ), but nevertheless, He still knows better. ... The hard part is having faith in that. ^_-
