My parents lived in Germany for six years. I was a year old when my family returned to Canada.

so you are saying that they moved to Germany from Canada. then this episode took place at some point in the six years?

Yes. My Canadian parents were in the military and got stationed in Germany. During this time, my parents would travel around Europe while they lived in West Germany. When I was born, they took me to Switzerland with them and took this picture. After West and East Germany were reunited, the Canadians were no longer needed there so we moved back to Canada.

Some of these pictures were taken in Germany.

My parents met on a military base in okinawa japan. Well they met at a club but i'm sure the base was near. :)

My parents met in high school chemistry class. .... Now because of that I am here in the lab at Dr. Pepper.

My parents also met in high school, they both worked at Astroworld (which is sadly no more). However, they lost contact and ended up meeting at my mom's old hospital.

Well I'm glad I didn't grow up in Japan. The school system alone would have eaten me alive. If I continued to spend my childhood in Germany, best case scenario I go to Realschule. Worst case scenario, I got to the special school.

In Japan, you'll be expected to study, study, study, get into a prestigious university, study, study, study, get a good job, work, work work... In Germany I'll probably spend each day being reminded of my country's Nazi past.

Personally, I think 1990's United States was the best time and place to have a childhood.

90s best time to be a kid, 70s best time to be a young adult final answer.

I don't know why you wish you grew up in Japan. You'd just be raised on a culture where giant robots and tentacle monster porn are the norm.

I thought that was China ....?

EDIT: Wait, this isn't the what's on your mind thread, is it? I think we're getting off topic here, then. My bad.

I can't quite see the issue with any of these things.

Do you think that before we enter Heaven, God will allow us to try life out again in different time periods? There are several time periods in the 20th century I want to live in before I spent the rest of eternity in perfect bliss.

Would you settle for a virtual world that is completely similar to life as we experience it now just you know its fake? I can't see why this couldn't be a possibility in the next life. The only actual obstacle to it would be we might have more interesting fun things to do that something like that may not interest us at that point.
