I indeed think that is one of the three ways:

1. Observing nature
2. Reading the Word
3. Prayer and communication
Nothing stopping you from making up other ways. I will stick with the one mentioned in Rom. 1:20 because it is comprehensive. Your two others presuppose some caricature of the Creator. The first completely relies on the process.

The revelation comes regardless of how deep the study is. I know something about your father whether I am just your neighbor or the surgeon who remove your appendix. The point is that knowledge of the Creator is best obtained by becoming familiar with the things that He made.

Aren't you interested in diagnosis though?

My take on this would be anything that brings you closer to God is a good thing. The only thing we need to be careful of is when this directly contradicts the Bible. I believe the Bible is the ultimate source of authority and knowledge of God, but not the only source of knowledge. God is as capable of revealing his Spirit to us today as he was in the days of Abraham.

Nature has not changed. The same rules have always applied. We like to preach that man has changed when all that has changed is how man thinks of himself.

I thought that was your conclusion, but was suggesting if you still desired to study that question.

I do think it most likely our disagreements over science would become less so if you studied physics.

Yes, this is a core issue. What's contrary and what's just really different?

I visited an Ashram for a day a few years ago and felt like an alien. But being there was so much different than just reading about Hinduism. There was a beautiful sense of peace, cohesion, and community. There was also a phenomenal sense of reverence. (And I ate really well as a vegetarian!)

But just the system of gods is mind-boggling! To say that it is a complex henotheistic system is an understatement. So, is it contrary to the Bible? If so, does that mean there's nothing to learn there even if it is contrary?

Visiting the Ashram is one of dozens of similar experiences I've had with other religions and philosophies that are much different than Christianity. But I have a sense that some of these communities know God in a way that is unique to their path. I've found value in that even though I don't want to join.

That's why I'm curious if other people have found value in experiencing diverse traditions.

As an employee at NASA, I am often amazed by what we see through the telescope. The most amazing thing to me is that God's word remains true. Only the true God could dare say things that will happen exactly as He says things will happen.
Have you not notice that no other God has anything to say?

Put God to the test, know His word that you may prove Him.

2Cr 1:20For all the promises of God in him [are] yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

His word provides us hope.
Let us all stand by faith in God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Am I correct in thinking you are a reductionist like E.O. Wilson?

I hope you soon get enlightened about this erroneous belief.

Yes, although I would make the clarification that Catholicism is under the umbrella of Christianity. :D

Is the Judgment in progress since 1844? Is that a partime or fulltime job for Jesus?
