  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Today i was listening to a sermon on tape. The sermon was preached by Jack Younts and it was titled " a weeper, a dreamer, and a singer" in the sermon he talked about us as christains being too comfortable with our satutus in our walk with God that we do not whitness to others. He made me think....are the kids and adults around my town going to go to hell becasue im to comfortable being were i am? Sometimes we as christians think just beacuse we have large churches and nice facilities and good music that we have all we need. Its true we have all these things and I love it but i think its a shame that we do not sometimes share it with the people that we need to be sharing with. The people who really need it. I am 18 and just graduated high school i went to the same high school for 13 years of my life and for all 13 years i was the only pentecostal person out of 500 people. I was all alone and I loved every minute of it because that ment my light could shine brighter. In Psalms it talks about the men going into the foreign land and the soldiers asking them to sing them one of the songs of zion and they replied " how shall we sing the lords song in a strange land?" How can you not sing??? If you just sit and look around you, you can see that there are loads of people out there just waiting to be whitnessed to and wanting to be whitnessed to. Sure they may laugh at you the first time but what about the second? what about the third? what if the first time they laugh but then they being to think "ya know maybe there is something to this whole jesus thing" and the second time you whitness to them you get them to come to church and what if they get saved? all becuase you didnt give up on them. Have any of you ever thought about if you are too comfortable with your walk with God that you just stop wanting to grow and learn more in him?

Kuntrygurl_26,

Thank you so much for this thought-provoking, convicting post! You are right about many Christians, at least in America (including myself), being too "comfortable" in their faith. Christians in countless other countries (such as China and India) live under incredible persecution, and yet with their out-spokenness and fervency about their faith, they put most of us in the West to shame. The U.S. seriously needs a revival, both on a personal and a collective level! God help our apathy and complacency! :prayer:

Thank you for spurring me to love-based action with this post! Nothing is more important than sharing Christ with others (and showing His selfless, giving love to them in all that we say and do)! We need more of this kind of convicting thought (that hopefully will inspire action)!

Your brother in Christ,
Chris

You are very welcome but i cant take the credit. God layed it on my heart I just typed it out. I think sometimes we do not realize how lucky we are to have the relationships with God that we have. Some people look all of their lives for the love that God gives us and can give them also.

Heck, yes, North America is too comfortable! But then there are believers like you who realize this and ask Him for greater heights and depths in service and relationship with Him. We're all different kinds of witnesses by design. Some are designed to witness without saying a word, some are testimonial, some invitational, while others are the mouths sent out to proclaim. I would guess you're a mouth and I love your enthusiasm kuntrygirl! My girlfriends and I are going downtown now and then and speaking with complete strangers and praying everywhere we go and that alone is a witness to some-I'd definitely invite you if you were in toronto! God convicts in miraculous ways and while we'll never know EXACTLY how many around us are saved, it's exciting to think how many in your town have turned to the Lord through recognizing His light in you!

BlestVessel,

Hiya! I think that would be so awesome if some of my friends from my youth group could get together and go whitnessing in our streets. I'd definatly want to go. I dont know if i would call myself a mouth set out to proclaim, God just gives me these words and I put them down on paper. I have been writing poetry for the lord since i was 7 years old. I have been published 4 times. One even got published in the pentecostal word of flame sunday school literature. It was a poem called " the unforgettable dream" . Also my poem entittled " The great awakening" was published. It is a poem about 9/11. Thank you for your kind words. And i agree we never know which people around us are saved and how arent but all we can do is try to be as best a whitness for them as we can and hope it plants a seed in them. I know I always try to try my hardest although sometimes i fail as all of us do from time to time but I try to pick myself back up and keep on going. May God bless you in your works for him

Jesus was a revolutionary and he wants us to be one also. I do not understand a lot about my religion for I have just entered it, but I am reading the Bible and trying to learn. I am trying to get people to see the light of Christ. There are too many people out there that are not walking the path Jesus wants us to. We must revolutionize the way these people think. We need more to study scripture. Nobody knows when the rapture will happen. We need to save as many as possible. I have good friends that have their eyes sealed shut against God. I want them to be saved also.
-God Bless

Amen Yamagi! God wants us to go out and try to reach the lost! He wants us to whitness all we can weather it be vocal or just doing our best to serve him. Believe it or not people do watch you as a christian and some even look up to u and want to be like you. You have a love in christ that they want and yearn for and some even search all their lives yet never find the love we have in christ but if we would just whitness to them and tell them what we have then we can help them find it.
