Are We On Our Way to A Cure?

I was just curious as I found this story rather interesting and there's some talk in the near to distant future about a cure. @JohnDB, here's the thread that I messaged you about. Why couldn't this virus could have come when Jesus was still walking the earth though? Then nobody would get it. At least none of His followers.

A cure will only be necessary until we get a good, working vaccine. Some diseases have been all but eradicated by their vaccines.

My family has a bad reaction to those that have a particular component, but we are rooting for the ones that don't have that component (like below).

Disease outbreaks often work to indicate the general health of a population. Covid-19 has shown that we are in pretty poor health, a fact that was of course well known already.

That is not a cure...it's a symptom lessening agent. Kinda like HCQ.

Alright people still don't give your hopes up,.. I don't think it's really been tested all that much yet and all I know is that I don't want to be first in line when we're not sure whether or not it'll develop side effects,.. or if it's even going to be all that effective.

The question is going to be about side effects.

But an antiviral as effective as Tamiflu is for influenza but this time works for Covid-19 is exactly what we need.

Yeah,.. but the real question is how likely is that going to happen? And when? We probably won't have anything like that for at least another year. The shot hasn't really been tested all that much yet,.. I think I remember reading that it was tested on one person so far and I don't remember reading anything else since then.

Testing is going to take a bit... minimum and maximum dosing and duration.

Oh oops! I thought I read somewhere that the current vaccine was a shot. My mistake.

And the sooner the better if you ask me. Like I already stated in my OP,.. how different would it be if Jesus was walking the earth today? Then what would happen with this virus?

I just hope that once this goes away that it won't come back. I heard that you could possibly catch it more than once though. The thing that's really bad around here are people are littering their masks that one way or another are full of contamination. On top of that they're having house parties. Unfortunately it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. I honestly don't know what Thanksgiving and Christmas are going to look like.

Viruses can mutate. That is why we have a new "flu" shot every year. Once we have an effective "corona" vaccine, the annual variant vaccine will probably happen in the same fashion.
