Trump call for Ukraine election based on Russian 'disinformation,' Zelenskyy says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hit back at President Donald Trump's call for the country to hold fresh presidential elections after historic Russia-U.S. talks.
Vlad Zelensky thinks that some of us are.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy accuses Donald Trump of living in a ‘disinformation bubble’
Ukrainian president’s remarks come as US counterpart appeared to blame Kyiv for war with Russia
Zelenskyy hits back at Trump's comments, says Ukraine is not for sale
The pugnacious response followed Trump’s suggestion that Ukraine was responsible for Russia’s invasion three years ago.
In general, Christians need to avoid reading just one view of current events,
or propositions, in general.
Conspiracy theories are created, by taking a "hothouse" opinion, politicizing it,
and then wrapping it in a supposed "plot" by some insidious group, to damage
people with whatever the commentator thinks is being used to damage people.
Short of being made into a conspiracy theory, hothouse opinions can be pumped
up by computer algorithms that will repeat them thousands of times a day, until
undiscerning people believe that they are true. This is just a new form of
computer-aided gossip.
When people commit themselves to make a living on false theories, like Alex
Jones did, on perverting the facts of the Sandy Hook school shooting,
then, they are engaging in a form of oppressing not only truth, but people
(such as the shooting victims' families) who happen to be caught in the
middle of a web of lies and insinuations.
---------- ----------
Where the question of hothouse gossip, meets Christian moral-ethical codes,
is the command "You shall not lie". Lie about what? Lie about our shared
reality. The Bible presents a world in which we live in a shared reality, and are
individually responsible to be in touch with reality, and NOT to misrepresent
that shared reality.
It seems that many Americans, are badly off the track of discerning what our
shared reality is. And, this is a MORAL problem.
