Are we freed from sin, literally or not?

When Jesus said he would set us free, what does that really mean?
I think it means freedom from slavery to being in bondage to sin (having to give in to temptation).
What are your thoughts?

Jesus set me free from sin, and the way he did it was through knowledge in Him, and through the wisdom of His ways, and through miracles in which He separated me from my sins, and through forgiveness so that I did not have to carry and be burdened down or weakened by guilt. With the New Life I have in Christ, I am no longer in the clutches of sins, I have gained strength through faith in Jesus, through knowledge of the truth and the way and the life in the spirit. I have gained a reason for living a new life, much more than the promise of eternity, much more than the betterment of myself, I have gained all the blessings and annointings of heaven. I have gained access to all the wisdom and knowledge of a perfect world to come. I have been called to be one of the children of God and to be able to live without sin, not that I am completely successful at it, just that I know that it is possible as Christ walked the earth and proved it was. I know that there will come a time, with the total indwelling of the Holy Spirit in its fulness we will be able to fully Christ like and without sin.
