Are we alone?

For centuries man has been looking at the sky, and has asked, "Are we alone"? Our probes may soon be able to answer that question. We have another robot on Mars, this one is packed with more intruments. It may be able to answer the question. Another probe will bring back a sample from a comet. What will be do if we discover life 'out there'? For anyone who believe's that it contradicts faith, remember that the discovery that the earth was not the center of the universe had also volated the Church it it's day.

What is we find life on Mars? On an asteroid that has traveled trillions upon trillions of miles away perhaps so very far away that it started when life on earth began?

What if we are NOT only only one of many places where may be (or perhaps there had) been life?

Will it affect our faiths? Our lives? Will we think differently when we walk ouside and see the stars and the sun? Might it change how you view others?

No, no, and no. I figure, given the probability, there is probably life on other planets. It would be cool if we found some, but I really have no doubt that there is life out there somewhere.

I always like to see Mars research, but keep in mind Mars is just one planet and it's in our solar system. There are billions upon billions of stars in the universe, they are all really, really far away, and many of them have planets.

I believe, and have always believed, that there is other forms of life places and times other than here and now Reincarnation would get pretty dull if you always had to be the same thing in the same place Personally, I'm putting in a transfer request to another dimension as soon as I die this time... coming back here again and again just makes me sad and tired in my soul.

Fermi Paradox, if life could arise on two planets in a single solar system then the universe should be brimming with it. Intelligent life as well.

I find it highly probably that there is at least rudimentary life (unicellular) on another planet, and quiet possibly intelligent life w/o the capability of interplanetary communication. If it is in another solar system, why should they be able to contact us. Perhaps they are on a similar level as us as far as that goes. We have only been sending communications that could be recieved from another planet for a few years (a little over 50 or 60). So our nearest star neighbor being a little over 40 light years away, who's to say that they didn't just find out about us 10 years ago and send an answer which we won't recieve for 30 more years?

I don't see how it could possibly affect our faiths. It could infact confirm some of our beliefs, if they hold the same beliefs, I see nothing in the Bible to forbid their being other planets, or other intelligent life.

Having belived that "aliens" exist since I was a child, I don't think it will truly affect the way I view the universe around me, but it will change the way many view things. Maybe it will make it all seem more real, rather than just a pretty picture to look at in the night sky.

I do not have a clue why discovering more life in the universe would compromise faith in God.

On the contrary, it should strengthen His position as all-powerful master planner. I believe in life outside of this earth, and I also believe that we will only discover it if it be His will.

I think there is Life out there. (I'm a fan of the X-Files, so that should say it all. LOL)

Why would we be the only ones? There billions upon billions of stars out there and tons of space, how could there not be some other life? I'm really curious though, because I want to know what they are like. I can't wait to see what we find.

It wouldn't make me change the way I feel about others or even God. It would probabley make me more proud.

I believe there is life on other planets. Perhaps they have there own histories. Perhaps Jesus appeared to them. Perhaps Jesus was also crucified by other Planetary civilizations. Maybe the second coming and armegeddon has happened on another planet already. Deep stuff!.

Ive rolled that one over several times, interesting.

That concept, and also... what about other worlds for which this Christ is saviour... but He did not live in their world. It was only revealed to them that the atonement occured. If that is a possibility, what faith they must have!


Speculation is entertaining... more entertaining than edifying but interesting nonetheless.

How do you know this though? What if Jesus simultaneously existed on all worlds with intelligent life and was killed on all the worlds simultaneously but for a variety of reasons.

Seems like it would make for quite an interesting Bible Extended Edition.

Here's something thats purely speculation. In the ten commandments, the first one is 1. I am your Lord thy God, thou shalt not have any strange God's before me.

What if their are other Gods? Like, Alien Gods? Christ is the highest, but what if there were ones below him that had Alien planets? I know it's kind've funny, but still interesting to think about.
