Are we allowed to believe in aliens?

Anything extra-terrestrial is "Alien". So, yes, because God and his angels are extra-terrestrial. Its just the way society has painted it that makes that term seem a bit offensive. You know, with the space-ships and abduction. It's just their way of saying "Hey, don't you ever feel as if some one is watching our every move? Don't you feel that they are more intelligent than us?" I guess that is the atheist's explanation for feeling a presence and they don't wish to consider the possibility of God.

Well that was offensive. I don't know any atheists who believe that aliens have ever come into contact with humans or that they even exist for that matter and that includes myself. For me I only acknowledge the fact that there is a possibility of life on other planets. Please avoid stereotypes and making uneducated assumptions about people.

More than likely there's alien animals running around on different planets, but you never know, there might be intelligent life out there. In the Bible it says that God made us in His image. That can mean one of two things. 1.) He actually made us look like him or
2.) He made us spiritually and mentally like Him. If it is the latter there may be other humans or humanoids out there. Just a thought.

We are certainly allowed to believe that aliens exist. Perhaps they do.
If you are interested in that, I don't see how that can be a problem with your walk in faith.

As for the controversy thing, it's heretical. Angels are not aliens. Plain as that. If they were, God would have said so. He said many scientific things that humans could barely understand at that time (rotation of the Earth, spherical Earth, Earth being suspended by nothing, water cycle, etc.).

I find myself fascinated by aliens too. If they exist, that would be AWESOME! Haha!

The word in Hebrew could mean "globe" or "circle".

It does not refer to a flat disk. Christopher Columbus saw that verse and decided and claimed the Earth was a sphere.

Doesn't that sound eerie and cultist to you guys? You have to ask before you can believe something? That's sad. You should believe whatever you have good evidence for...

I do not believe in aliens, but I also do not think it contradicts the faith in anyway.

The thing is, they would not be intelligent, they would just be animals.

You see, the Bible says that what makes human beings different, is that we are made in God's image.

The animals are not made in God's image.

What does that mean? It means we have characteristics of God that the animals do not have.. like high intelligence, creativity, we are moral beings... The animals do not have these characteristics, but God does, and it's these attributes which make us 'made in God's image" I believe.

So I would not expect alien life to have any of these characteristics, becuase noone else is made in God's image like we are.. Meaning if they are out there, they would just be animals.
