It is hypocritical to act out our negative emotions when we know the Truth ...yes?
Wouldnt you say that most of our negative responses are from the flesh (worldly and carnal habits and behaviors we used to live by as non christians)?
When we had unregenerate spirits, we could either follow the leadings of our satanic inner man or the desires of the flesh. Most of us learned religion on a mental level an followed this.
Once we are born again we have a new inner man that is created in the image of God the Father. Now we have a choice between the flesh and the new man. If we follow the inner man, we will never sin. When we follow the outer, fleshy man, then we will sin.

Sure we are all hypocrites in some measure, g-man, since only Christ was complete truth.

And, yes, there is righteous anger, cubbs. The symbol of Christianity is not a vicar's tea party, but the soldier.

The thing is though, almost invariably, if not indeed invariably, we fight the most powerfully when we suffer for Christ's sake (and that means our neighbours' sake too) , not when we physically or even verbally assault.

Still, we have to choose between right and wrong many many times during the day. Each commitment to right is a blow against the enemy in the spiritual battle - a battle of seemingly infinite viciousness and endless dimensions, including diseases, wars, oppression, starvation, etc, etc.

When we are really at the sharp end, sometimes, we won't always be sure if we are doing the right thing.. We simply have to act in faith, in good faith, as best we can see it, and it can be quite a heavy a cross.

Negative emotions? I'm not sure they can be. Emotions are a gift from God. Our emotions reflect whats in our hearts. Side note: Even Jesus responded with a little hostilty in clearing out the temple.

Emotions are not positive or negative. It's how we respond to those emotions and what we do because of them that can become either positive or negative actions. This is why it is important to be able to control your emotional state with reasonable judgement, otherwise, we would naturaly tend to take a selfish "negative" action with just about any emotion.

Since Christ has ascended to God's right hand and as Lord over all, sent the Spirit to actualize His own presence in the Church, the possibilities are astounding!
We are no longer under the Law but members of a New Covenant with the Law written on our hearts.
We are no longer controlled by the "flesh"(the old way of life) but live "according to the Spirit"(Rom.8:4b).
Thru the Spirit Christ indwells each member of His church. Now it is our responsiblity to live what we are:"To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me"(Col.1:29).
God bless, Al
