  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I keep having uncontrollable thoughts about Christ, these aren't conscience as me thinking, they just pop in my head like when I'm watching tv or reading.

I prayed to St.Michael and Christ. waiting to find out if they received the message.

today, while unlocking the door to my car it felt like a acorn but no acorn was insight that hit my head hard. think it was Christ telling me I'm doing something wrong.

This happens to me also sometimes. But, our thoughts, especially unwanted ones, mean nothing, and they do not define who we are unless we decide to go along with them.

These thoughts are not sinful, they are called
reminations, they come from the sub conscience
and we all have them.

Why do you ask if its a sin, if its a sin you should
know its a sin. I'am assuming you are like alot of
Catholics that never had catechism. I'am not trying
to be criticle but hellpfull.

start out with this. Sin is the turning from the
creator to the creature.

Study catechism its easy to get and learn what
is right and what is wrong. If you need help,
post me.

There are such things as uncontrolabe thoughts, and those aren't sinful.
However, there are many thoughts that you can avoid having by getting trash out of your environment. For instance, if you listen to people rap all day long on your stereo about "shake your booty" or something and you are all the sudden having uncontrolable lustful thoughts, then it should be obvious whats going on.

But truly uncontrolabe is not sinful.

What do you do with Junk Mail at home ?

These thoughts are "spritual junk mail"...
take authority over your mind
speak aloud ... " I refuse these in Jesus' name "
praise God, sing a song from church ...Holy, Holy, Holy
plug in your i-pod, walkman , with some christian channel or music
ask the Holy Spirit for some good thoughts, and like a cd-rom... do not let the enemy hit "eject" keep the day dream going , which keeps the thoughts from coming

meditate upon Philippians 4.8 & 13

It helps me to picture random thoughts as boats that are floating by on the river. They're there, I see them, but I don't have to go on them.

If I find myself getting on, especially if it's a distraction in prayer, I just say "Jesus, I'd rather have you" and go about my business.

If, on the other hand, you or anyone are frequently troubled with unwanted thoughts that are really strange, such as thoughts about harming someone or yourself or really bizarre mental pictures (hey, it does happen to some of us), then go to your doctor or pastor and talk to them about it. They aren't the norm, and there are things you can do that will be helpful.
