Are there certain sins, too terrible for God to forgive even a Christian?

The Hunry,
the bible has many instances where people are controlled by the demons, and where demons are in a person's body.
And I believe in spiritual warfares, and there are many churches that have pastors well equipped in the knowledge of spiritual warfare.
Go for a deliverance. Seek God for help and go to a pastor that will spiritually delivered you from demon bondages.
Let me ask you. Do you hear voices speaking in your head? Voices you know do not belong to your thoughts.

If there is one, it's "blasphemy of the holy spirit", to which there are two or three references in the Bible. There's substantial debate about what it is, but one thing everyone agrees on is that, if you are worried that you may have done it, you *cannot* have done it.

I believe the only unpardonable sin is the rejection of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Their is no remission of sin for the individual that rejects Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Jesus became our sin. He took our place on the cross at Calvary to pay our sin debt, for the wages of sin according to God's Word is death.

Obiviously, this rejection is complete and irreversible if one rejects Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to the very moment of death of the physical body.(complete and total death apart from the stated near death accounts)

In Christ

If it's unpardonable, there's a *LOT* of Christians I know who are going to Hell because they did that at least once during their youth.

I think I stick with my answer.

I think many people flip-flop all of their lives between repent/rebel/repent/rebel/repent so you are quite correct here.

Somewhere I connect the sin against the Holy Spirit with spiritual fornication, as if we must be the virgin, or be like the virgin, through whom Christ is born in us. Of course this would also mean that a non-virgin rebirth is possible and the difference between these two would sure leave a permanent mark on our soul.

I have really wondered and worried about this because Satan has frequently tried to literally force me (and I mean overwhelming temptation that is unbearable) for instance to pray to him and call him 'lord'. If a Christian did that or some other unimaginably terrible sin would they be eternally condemned to hell as Judas was when he betrayed Jesus? Could a Christian sell their soul to Satan?
Please help!

You know, sometimes Satan will put crazy thouhts in my head, also; thoughts that I know aren't mine, because I am a new creation. Thoughts like "Hey there, see that man standing on the bridge? Wouldn't it be funny to just walk over there and push him into the water?" and while I'm driving, "Oh that person in fornt of you won't speed up. Why don't you just push him out of the way?" He puts ridiculous mean thoughts in my head like that every once in a while. He has also done the thing you say. I'll just be going along minding my own business, and I'll get this crazy thought "I am Satan. Worship me!" It comes from out of the blue, from nowhere! I could be sitting there thinking about football, or computers, or even the Cabbage Patch Kids; it doesn't matter. The point is, you're not an abnormal Christian if Satan pops those thoughts into your mind.

Satan works in the thought life. He throws out crazy thoughts like that, to see if we will take the bait and dwell on them.

How to combat it? This is how i combat it. When one of those thoughts hits me, I don't give it a second thought. I immediately recognize it as Satan's thought not mine. I say something like "I thank you Lord, that I am a new creation and am not a slave to sin. I thank you for your grace and mercy and forgiveness. I thank you for your Holy Spirit, which gives me the power to overcome all temptation. I recognize that thought is not mine, but Satan's. I thank you for the victory which you have given me in Christ Jesus." And then I just praise and worship God. Satan can't stay around if you're doing that.

I think that in moments when we fully understand and claim our victory in Christ, in those moments, Satan cannot be victorious in his temptations. I think that is the key in opening up to the power of the Holy Spirit, and letting Him overcome the temptation for us.

Do you believe that a Christian can be possessed by demons? I don't, because we are new creations; the Holy Spirit lives in us, and the sin nature has been crucified. How can a demon and teh Holy Spirit reside in the same body?

I do think it's possible for Christians to be oppressed by demons. Satan and his demons often tempt Christians mercilessly and nonstop. But by letting the Holy Spirit fight our battles through us, rather than trying to overcome the temptation by willpower of the flesh, we can claim that victory that Christ has already given to us.

I agree, seebs. Many people (such as myself) think that it is something along the lines of attributing the work and miracles of Christ to the Devil, calling them Satanic works.

I would recommend a book called "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyer. It helped me to understand and overcome the evil thoughts that once plagued me inside of my own mind. This is Satan's battlefield to tempt and try to defeat Christians. Once you learn this and discover how to deal with it, you will have taken the last stronghold away from the Devil. I no longer doubt my salvation as I once did, and I don't constantly find myself casting out evil thoughts. I highly recommend you check your library. Or I will send you my copy free of charge.
Your brother in Christ Jesus,
BK

Excellent advice, BK (Burger King?)

I have not read Joyce Meyer's book, but I certainly agree with you that understanding the nature of the battle is the key to overcoming temptation. Too many people think the thoughts originiated from within themselves, and that's what Satan wants them to think. If he can get them thinking that, he's got them fighting against themselves; a battle they'll never win. However, if we know that the thoughts originate with Satan and his demons, that gives us the power of teh Holy Spirit to say "As a new creation, I refuse this temptation, for they are not my thoughts, but the thoughts of the evil one. I have the Holy Spirit in me. I choose to reject this temptation and walk in the Spirit, as Christ has designed for the new creation to do."

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is ultimately the rejection of Jesus Christ.

Scripture mentions only one unforgivable sin, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

There are a few ideas about what blasphemy is. I believe that blasphemy is rejecting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.

You believe correctly. There is plenty of Scripture to support you.

This is what the term spiritual warfare is about it is something that I try to teach on just for this simple fact I have been in this for some time now the only thing that is going to get you through this I our Lord, A lot of Christains may not go through this for this simple fact The Lord prepares his children for what he wants them to do and if satan is trying to temp you believe it, it is real some people are going to be teacher of adults counslers of some sort teacher's of children ,Preachers some will go into ministry and what ever the lord will may be and we have to be prepared so not everyone goes through the same battle some can deal with death better than other and some can deal with spiritual death and are able to help in this area better than others but to do so we have to be prepared by what ever means the lord has for us it migh help you a little to read Job God allowed Satan to go down to Job . This is where faith and Trust come in to play and talking to the Lord whatever it is the Lord is prepare you for I feel through the spirit that its not to be taken lightly and that I know you are being prepared for something special the reason why I say this is because Lately (meaning in the past yr. and a half)I have come accross a few a very few but still being just recently within a yr. and a half a few just as myself struggle against satan himself It took strenght from My Lord to help me and I am still going through this and I feel there is more to come for you so i urge you to ask the Lord to give you strength Here are some verses that will help if you pray about them ask for understanding and strenght to stand against satan himself meditate in Ephesian 6:10-18 meditate and pray over this verse I have found that it has help me in many trial Psalms 23: 4 this is getting to long so I am going to send it but I am also going to send another letter for you so until the next letter May the God Lord Bless You and Keep you I'm going to be praying for you the Lord has something special in mind for you if he didn't satan wouldn't be so determind keep you Faith and trust in the Lord May God bless us all

Hi. its me again to talk more on spiritual warfare but first I have a question for you, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savour and Confessed that he is your lord above all and that he died and rose for our sins if not I ask that you do this now If you havent I ask that when you do that this comes from your heart and not just words and if you Have well then you know the Angles had a Party because it is said when we confess the Lord Christ as our savour they rejoyce so what a Heavenly Party it must have been LoL makes me glad back to warfare in warefare we don't just have satan to deal with we have his demons evil spirits this is something I couldn't speak but the more spiritual ground I became through the word of God and through the strength God Gave Me to deal with alot of issues that came my way I find better understanding I am someone that always believed in The Lord as Lond as I can remember but I did not obey him oh no I didn't I use to drink I am Here to tell you I was a sinner but even then the Lord Love me and even then he continued to call me to change and I would try but the more I tried to change the more Satan would come up with something new , through temp., or even force Yes force I try to read the bible and terriable things would happen for example I have been shot at I have been raped I have lost everything and through all this the Lord still loved me I tried to talk to my husban about the Lord which he didn't believe in Heaven or Hell I Lived in Tulsa now I live in Southeastern Ok. My Husban has been missing since June of 2oo3 he use to scream at me tell me there is no God the more I tried to stay in the word the worse it got there is a lot more but I haven't got time to go into it maybe another time if God willing, Now if you feel satan is try to get you to pray to him I telling not to take that lightly he is because he knows if he can stop you from doing God's Will then he has defeated, and decieved another and that is his goal to turn God's people from him. But if we stay strong in the Lord with his spirit to guide us matt.16:18 tells us : And I say also unto thee that thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church and the Gates of Hell Shall not Prevail against it. This is powerful when understood In original Greek it is: Thou art PETROS (a little piece of rock) and upon this PETRA (bedrock) I will build my church and the gates of hades shall not overcome. now understand when we accept the Lord Jesus as our personal savour we are like little pieces of rocks or small bricks and The Lord is our foundation he is the bedrock the church is built throu him without the foundation of the Lord there is no Church now there are a lot of churches that claim Christ as its foundation but when they bring other God's into his Holy Place of Worship then whats wrong with this picture Its so sad because the church I attend does this very thing as well as all the surounding churches and to have a better understanding of this all we have to do is seek and you shall find don't accept church docting that is not what God stands for or intended his church to be to have a better understanding don't take my word for it do as the Lord had said Seek and You shall find Studie Now I will say a good place to start is where we get our bible from K.J.V. HolyBible ect.... studie the Hebrew text Learn some of the words The Old Test. contains Hebrew and The New Test. contains Greek word Studie theses word and understand seek and you will find for example Easter some christains will fight for this one and thats a shame and some preacher also but Easter was worshipped by pagan's Easter is (by pagan belief) A Heavenly Goddess The bible plainly tell us not to worship this so why do churches still diobey God ? I've cryed over this one and more My bother is a preacher and it hurts me to say this because this isn't the only Pagan belief in the churches today so I continue to attend and pray for them True children of Christ see this and other things going on we have to be Strong because we they do this they allow satan to step right on in even if it is without knowing that they are doing it and this is also a form of spiritual warfare sometimes to gain strength in the Lord you may have to get away from all the confusinon and find a Quiet place to talk and pray to the lord Now you can pray but when yOu talk to the Lord he wants to hear from you tell him you problem and talk to him aloud find a quiet place just for you and the Lord talk as if he is right there with you he Loves that for this very for in doing so you acknowlged that he is real he is alive and he is with you and don't be supprised when he talks back satan will talk to you just the same but its my understanding you know this already don't put your trust in anyone not me not your mother dad your family or even your paster put your trust in The Lord I believe he has something special for you.lol I laught because whatever it is it has satan using some mean tricks I am going to contiune to pray for you May the Good Lord Bless You and Keep you

This is something that some christains don't like to hear but it's true when we become a new creation in christ we accept him and we accept the battle that is why we have to put on the armor and stay in the word those little attacks make me lol just because satan has no power over us his demons or fight us with their little plastic picnic forks and not pitch forks that is what staying in the word mean lol what can a plastic picnic fork do to me with God's armor.
