Paul also said do not place one day over another which is what some in the early church were doing
Legalisms are not part of the Lord's salvation today
And I see no value in the study
The believer should be studying the Lord's Word and improving their knowledge
While I dont keep the feasts my self, I do study them more to get a better understanding of scripture and see how different things were fulfilled.
When God said these are the Feasts of the Lord, he didn't say they were the feasts of the Jews.
But we need to ask ourselves these tough questions
Why is it the 7 biblical feasts, we dont observe and make every reason not to observe them even though God made them for us, but we turn right around and have no problem celebrating Christmas, Easter, Halloween, days God never commanded of us?
Jesus said concerning Passover do this in remembrance of me
The days come when nations will observe tabernacles
Are there other feast that will continue to be observed?
" Observed" is the wrong word for the Christian in the New Jerusalem. We are not under the law of Moses.
Rev21:
The Glory of the New Jerusalem
22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it,[j] for the glory[k] of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. 24 And the nations of those who are saved[l] shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.[m] 25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). 26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it.[n] 27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes[o] an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lambs Book of Life.
Yes I agree we are not under the law... But to me the feast are holy days or ceremonial days... Like a festival ... A celebration... I don't see why we can't celebrate the wonderfulness of god in the feast
"We?" You mean "you" can." Feel free. It's only against the law when you hack a bull inhumanely for "the sins of the people."
I celebrate the "wonderfulness" of Jesus on Christmas & Easter
Legalism is when a person says,'' You must keep this particular tradition every year to be saved, and you must keep it exactly right.''
Learning God through the study of his Torah is getting to know Jesus personally.
Paul and the disciples went building churches to teach the Torah, and he got upset many times because they lacked in their study.
They did not have a New Testament.
When they should have been understanding the meat of the word, they were still nursing little babies because they should have been studying the law, the prophets and all the traditions and rituals, prayers and promises that are found in engulfing yourself in the law.
We are not to judge anyone for keep a Sabbath correctly or not, but we are to study and approve ourselves as lawyers and judges know the law.
Jesus is found in knowing the law.
Why do you hold a palm, myrtle, and willow in one hand and the etrog in the other?
Everything teaches of who Jesus is, but some people just flat out do not care enough to know him that well.
When a person begins with loathing the Torah and the traditions that teach who Jesus is and who you are, it is a bad beginning.
If a person is so biased against the law, how will it become the most loved thing in their life?
It should be in your mind and on your lips continuously.
Nobody is supposed to judge another person on whether or not they keep the law, but that does not mean that the law stopped teaching us who God is, and who his son is.
When God has made 7 appointed visitation days in mankind's history, shouldn't mankind learn his visitation days knowing that they have OBVIOUSLY NOT BEEN FULFILLED?
These 7 days of Visitation are promises, and the last of these days is what?
will the feast end when fulfilled?
I don't believe in a beginning or an end, I only believe that God reproduces his spirit over and over and over, and it has been going on forever and will go on forever.
That trillions of years from now, there will be the same lessons taught.
That lesson is simply,'' Go forth and die.''
Faith will always be, and it always builds.
The lessons of faith in Passover was taught to the nations one by one before Moses came along.
God had already been teaching the Passover before the word Passover was a Hebrew word.
I believe that mankind will begin again, and again, and again.
That God will come to them again, and again, and again teaching the same things that teach of love.
Love Your Enemies
43"You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.' 44"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Love just is, and it will always be taught.
Go forth and die.
"Romans 14 is referring to fasting in regards to choosing one day over another"
The point made is that the believer no longer needs to observe legalisms because this contradicts the Lord's salvation
Many of the early "church" were former followers of the law, teaching the legalistic error, and attempting to impose it upon the memberships
This is also a practice today among many, but not all, of the "messianic" Jews .... it is wrong and is contradictory to the Lord's salvation
Salvation comes by faith and not of works
On the other hand, the good works of a believer will follow
Salvation first, works second
Good point...
All those holidays are harmless ... Which of them break Jesus commandment ?
True, but many can use this same scripture against those days as well too.
Deuteronomy 12:29-32
29 When the Lord your God cuts off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land, 30 take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise. 31 You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way; for every abomination to the Lord which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods. 32 Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.
The bible says dont knot worship God in the same way as the pagans do, as it is an abomination to him. To me unless you are literally praying to a sun god or any other false idol, you cannot be worshiping another God.
Romans 14 is NOT referring to fasting at all!!!
It refers to everything under the law including the food restrictions under the Law.
He addresses dietary and holy day laws, so this is the point...that the law has NO application...but if one has a conviction about what they eat or what day they worship...we are to respect that because Christ freed us from the law.
I don't have a problem if a believer feels they should keep the sabbath, just don't try to tell me I need to!
If you think you shouldn't eat shell fish that's ok...but I'm going to Red Lobster!
If you think you need to be a vegetarian...fine...just don't try to make me one...I like steak. burgers and chops.
This is the point...WE ARE FREE in these things!
Pentecost is a harvest feast. No harvest has occurred. Pentecost is an unfulfilled feast at this time. When the harvest occurs.........pretrib..........Gentile.........then and only then will it be fulfilled.Don't you find that strange?
I mean why did god not reveal the times and seasons?
He gives the Jews holy days to remember for all generations... Then..
Jesus dies on Passover
Resurrect on firstfruits
Holy Spirit given on Pentecost
I don't believe in date setting
