Having been a Nazarene before I became a Calvinist , they are no way shape or manner reformed .

They are Arminian/Wesleyan .

They believe in a second act of the HS and ENTIRE sanctification (no progressive work). They also believe you can loose your salvation . They do not believe in total depravity limited atonement or resistible grace. It is a legalist holiness church that has church rules against things like drinking, gambling, smoking, movies , jewelry etc for membership

There are many good Christians that are Nazarenes , but reform ed they are not

In his sermon - Nazarene Article of Faith #10 - Entire Sanctification, WesleyJohn says Entire Sanctification is instant and progressive. They believe that second work is the removal of Original Sin. I think you meant to say they do not believe in irresistable grace. ;)
They aren't reformed.

There are a couple of denominations that you may not have considered.

There are Reformed Baptists (www.vor.org) and Regular Baptists.

Both are accepting of Reformed Theology. You might also look into non-denominational churches. Many are Charismatic but there are some that are not anf many would be accepting of Reformed Theology. (Even if some of the members don't believe it.)

Hope this helps....

I plan to check out a Baptist church just down the road from me.
I do not really see any other option where I live. :prayer:

I have found the website of the Baptist Church down the road from me.
I drive by it every day to get to work.

Here is the page with their statement of beliefs:
http://www.fellowshipbaptist-me.org/Beliefs.htm

We believe even a firm understanding and agreement of the tenets of this creed will fail to get you to Heaven. That's because you cannot mentally ascend into Heaven by reason, logic or by understanding the principles and beliefs of Christianity. The only way to get to Heaven is to be "born again" and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (See God's Message to You).

wow. i've never seen a line like this.

I thought that was pretty amazing myself.
I called to find out when the services are and was amazed again.

Around here anyway most churches may not always have Sunday night services and/or midweek services.
And even less likely in the summer time.

They have Sunday morning and Sunday evening.
They have Wednesday night.
They have a women's group meets one a month.
They have a men's group meets once a month.
And their website suggest some kind of singles program.
And certainy outreach programs.

And this is not a big church. Probably medium size for central Maine.

Caitlincares,

Totally off topic, but I LOVE your butterfly!!! :)

Sounds like an interesting Baptist church...let us know how it goes! I've never heard a statement like that in a "statement of beliefs". It's interesting......
Thanks. I made it myself.
I googled to find a butterfly coloring page.
Then used PAINT to make six different color versions.
Then used another product (slips my mind) to animate it.

I am working on some other butterflies for some other ladies.
I can do one for you if you would like.

I studied for a position of Deacon there before i became a Calvinist. To a Wesleyan the second act of grace (total sanctification ) means you are sinless .(can no longer sin) .
I love Wesley and his contribution to the gospel , I have Nazarene friends , great Christians all.
they are members of my family in Christ, but they deny all the five points of Calvinism

That is very sweet! :). If you know how to and how to get it to me, and can let me know how to get it on my page, then that would be great. I'm not so good at 'working' the computer that way. I haven't the slightest idea how to get a picture up there that isn't on the list(which is why I don't have one right now). So, if you are willing to do that much work for me.....LOL.... ^_^

Since I have not had much luck finding a Reformed church in Augusta I am trying to find a reasonable option... Augusta, Georgia?
Augusta, Maine

The closest which will have to do is an independent fundamentalist Fellowship Baptist church.

 Welcome to the Reformed forum.
