I used to read my horoscope -- but the day after so I could laugh at all the stuff that didn't happen.

Whether or not it is evil, I now find it to just be a waste of time. I think the space could be better used for more comics.
I agree more comics ...

I look at my horoscope every once in a full moon. I laugh at it every time. Once, it had the guts to tell me my favorite number was 666. That's really funny, because I hate 6. I laugh at fortune cookies too. They are excellent entertainment. Fun to make fun of.

There is nothing wrong with reading your horoscope for fun. It is when people take it seriously that it is wrong.

We are to be guardians of our own eyes and minds. To read horoscopes or indulge in anything occult for fun is just as wrong as doing it seriously.

We are told to avoid the very appearance of sin.

Fallen speaks out of ignorance: "And yet how many people will be dressing up on October 31st?"

Hallowe'en is a Christian name.

This mocking the evil spirits on the day when they used to cause terror is a Christian thing.

Please read my Post explaining it:

Halloween = Hallowe'en = All Hallows Eve + the night before All Saints Day = a feast day to honor all the saints who have passed from this life. It falls on the day before All Souls Day = the rememberence of all in Christ who have passed away.

Q: Are we supposed to take seriously Halloween advice from someone whose avatar is dressed like a flower?

Um, excuse me, but halloween is for kids to have fun. They don't know the history. They don't care about the history. They want candy and to have fun with friends. To talk about how many Reeses they got, how much Laffy Taffy they got. I'll bet you 100$, and I don't bet, that 9/10 kids at my church don't know and don't care about the history behind halloween.

You would have no problem getting a job under the Bush administration. The only thing I was ignorant of was your power of "spin" being remarkable.

I agree that kids don't know the history. My point was that Halloween started as a Christian holiday. It has become what it is because we let it -just like Christmas-- which is why most kids don't know the history. For them it is just a night to dress up, get candy and maybe scare or be scared. that doesn't make it evil or Satanic as some are trying to claim. Just makes it a fun a fun night for kids.

If you are referring to Samhain -- that was not a "day of the dead". It was the beginning of the new year for the druids and was also the beginning of the earth's winter sleep. While they did believe the veil between this world and the Otherworld was thinnest at this time of year their connection with the dead was more of a communication -- the dead could carry messages to the Source (or the One Who Watches). It was not a ghoulish celebration of the dead.

BTW--Pagan does not mean evil or satanic.
