  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I think they're fantastic. I wouldn't have gotten one, except it came free with the number of minutes I needed anyway. But I've found it to be absolutely invaluable, especially since I moved to London shortly afterwards, and the Maps feature was an absolute lifesaver. Having Email on the go is useful too, since we often get emailed about things at the last minute, and checking it once a day isn't enough.

Other apps that I use:
Facebook, like most people.
Wikipanion, which is just Wikipedia for mobile.
Calendar, which I now use instead of a paper diary.
Bible, which is so convenient for reading on the tube.
Daily devotions by Spurgeon.
A couple of London transport apps.
To Do list.
Shopping list.
Medical Abbreviations.
Diagnose the Disease (game).
My O2, useful for checking my minutes and texts balance.
Amazon UK, which I haven't used yet because my password has a character that's not typable on the phone.
Starbucks, which I haven't found a purpose for yet.
Style.com, useful when bored.
The Sims 3.
Some RPGs e.g. vampires, ninjas, that sort of thing.

It's sturdy too - I've dropped it a few times, onto hard ground, and it just blinks a bit and starts working again :)
I've done that with my iPod. It's been dropped on concrete and it still works. lol

I hear the iPhone is great for everything except phone calls.

That's no problem, just switch carriers. In fact, just get skype on it. Then you can bypass cellphone reception problems completely, and just call people wherever there's an internet connection.

I have an iTouch. It works great, except I broke the on/off button. Other then that, I love it. I've been toying with the idea of learning to do some iPhone programming to sell and app in the app store (duno if I'll actually DO it, but it'd be cool).

I have to upgrade my software to get new apps, though, which has really been a pain in the butt.
Agreed. I usually wait until someone releases a fix for the new update. In need my Cydia.

I have an iPhone and I love it. Granted, the battery life could be better but that's really my only gripe at the moment. I don't have a ton of apps for it but I do use a few like Facebook, GPS, and U2 tour announcements.:D
