Anyone speak or write Hindi?

Hello.
I want to be a missionary in India some day.
I think I want to focus on Hindus of India.
Could anyone show how to write a few sentences or something?

I really don't know too much myself, but my friends from Gujarat aand Pakistan are teaching me Hindi and Urdu (which is basically the same as Hindi with a few different words), so I suppose I could give you lessons while I myself am learning, but I can't teach really teach how to write in Hindi.

First of all,
are there any letters in Hindi where they sound different than in English?
Like, in Spanish, the h is silent.
Anything like that in Hindi?
