  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I know it's not new anymore, but I just watched it! The statistics amazed me! (But...I don't feel TOO bad, because I don't eat at McDonalds,[or any other fast food place] and I've never even HAD a hamburger at anyplace other than home!)
I also thought it was pretty funny the way he ate so much! :)

I haven't seen it. I read that it is kinda gross. I don't eat hamburgers to often. I don't eat out that much at all. I get a cheeseburger at McDonald's and french fries at Wendy's. I actually ate a junior bacon cheeseburger at Wendy's the other day. The only other places we eat out at is Long John Silver's and Taco Bell. The only time we have Burger King is when we are out of town.

I watch it and loved it! I am not a big fan of them, but my wife is very much into them. I do most of the cookin in the home(which I love to do) and if I am not there to cook she goes to mickey d's. She would eat it every day if I would let her. After I saw the DVD, I am trying to get out of all fast foods, for me and for my Wife. I think it is a must to watch, it does not show just mcdonalds, it show what fast food is doing to us. It is in the schools. I tell you, it opened my eyes!!

i thought it was a great documentary. I couldnt belive how much he gained in a month. then it took much longer to get the weight back off again. And how his cholesterol and all that got so much worse. How bout how the first few days he was vomitting because he wasnt used to the food. And the thing that really got me is how he got ADDICTED to the food even though in the begining he hated it! amazing stats. really makes you think.

I saw it, it presented such an extreme worst case scenario it was hard to see it as objectively done. To stop taking vitamins & exercising? C'mon, what does that prove? No one really eats like that. If anyone lets their lives revolve around fast food, duh, whadd'ya think is going to happen?

Nice to hear a voice of reason. Fast food isn't meant to be a staple in anyone's diet, but rather an indulgence on the same level as potato chips or candy. If there really are people out there who are stupid enough to think that they can eat only hamburgers and french fries without doing themselves grave injury, I would say that health concerns are the least of their worries.

I saw it and loved it. The DVD extras are great! Esp the 'nuclear fries'. I highly recommend the documentary, even though some people don't like Spurlock because they feel he points out the "obvious".

It was done this way because of the lawsuit that was brought against McDonald's by two people who claimed it was McDonald's fault the were fat. In the reply to the lawsuit McDonald's calimed that eating their food was not harmful even if it was eaten everyday. So the guy that did this film set out to see if McDonald's was making an accurate statement. He did only the amount of exercise a normal American does in the course of a day. If no one really eats fast food so much and everyone exercises like they should then America would not be so fat as a whole. All he really set out to do was prove McDonald's wrong which he did.

True enough, but if McDonald's had said that the sky is orange, would we really need a documentary to tell us that the sky is, in fact, Blue? Common sense has to enter into the equation at some point. Companies continually exaggerate, pump up, and even outright lie about their products, which can at times create confusion as to the true properties of said products. However, this was not one of those times. The nutritional value of McDonald's hamburgers, or rather the lack thereof, has already been well documented.
