CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I can't stand them. Besides the fact that they haven't put out a mildly decent album since "Joshua Tree", they have some of the worst stage presence I have ever seen in my life.
Plus, Bono is one of the most condescending men I have ever heard when it comes to political cause. Bono, just because African Aids is a horrible thing and you "sing" vocals for the world's most popular band, doesn't mean we hav to do everything your way.

Joshua Tree was such a great album. My mom listened to it a lot when she was pregnant with my brother and she loved it so much she named him Nathaniel Joshua.

Be careful how you come across when you don't like something that a fellow brother likes. The original poster was looking for support and by bashing U2 you are bashing them. Think about how your actions and words come across.

Well I like U2... hmmmm though I think Bono might think quite a bit of himself, anybody ever heard their live cover of Radioheads Creep? He changed the words from "I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul" to "I've GOT the perfect body, I want a perfect soul"... I didn't fancy that too much...
