but since you raised the question of why no one had thought to post in this forum asking that question, I took the lead and came here to ask, including the relavent link in my OP.

After all, it's only right and fair to come and ask here if anyone has more information, rather than to discuss elsewhere, and behind their back.

However the claim wasn't they were becoming Muslims, but that they were planning to accept Muslim refugees. That's plausible, but apparently the specific plan claimed is false.

The OP in the original thread did produce a number of follow-up comments that were little more than unsubstantiated gossip about the UMC.

Churches have always been involved in helping immigrants settle into America. I saw a TV show that had one of their topic a Baptist church in GA or close by that was helping settle Muslim immigrants into America. The pastor stated is was a way of showing the love of Christ to them. I thought that church was doing what the church should be doing.
