  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anyone Having Issues at Work?

Yes. I constantly have issues at work. I work at a prison and there is every evil spirit known to man here. Those spirits seem to attach themselves to staff and when they do, LOOK-OUT! I love the Lord with all my heart and I may just be the only person working here that does. I am openly criticized. Often, co-workers will pass me, look at me and make the "Ugggh" sound as if they are disgusted at the very sight of me. Most of the time, they just turn their head and don't say anything. I am not included in conversations, birthday celebrations, luncheons, award ceremonies or anything like that. I am often not told of schedule changes, audits, rule changes. My supervisor has said one word to me in 16 days this month. He said "hello" as he passed me a few days ago. I know my job very well so I don't need a lot of supervision. Good thing, huh? I have been acused of many things although I'm not sure what a lot of them are. Usually, my supervisor will call me in the office and tell me that someone told him that I was out to get him. He won't tell me who and it seems that he is just doing this to try and upset me. It does upset me sometimes but he always tells me that I am doing a wonderful job. His tone, though, when he says that is very hostile, almost as if he resents me for doing a good job. I have a tremendous workload. I am busy all the time. Some of my duties require that others do their part first and when I receive some of it, very often, it will not be complete. If I return it for completion, I get a nasty note back so I wind up doing it myself so I can finish my part. This puts me behind but I'm staying above water. It is difficult and sometimes, I get down. I fight tears a lot but when I ask my Lord to lift those feelings, he does. He is faithful to lift me up from where I am so I can rise above it. His Grace is sufficient for me and I love him so much!

Very frustrating. And OWC, nice of you to ask!

I am wondering about that sabotage phenomenon too. It seems to take hold much sooner than a person has a clue it will happen. It's easy to say it's the enemy out to destroy us, or jealous coworkers, but defining that never seems to solve the problem.

I think we need to get more serious about speaking out the terms in God's Word, to prevent getting spiritually trampled.

But as for convincing people of the truth... I am at a loss. The only thing I can suggest is documenting your work so others have a matter-of-fact list of what you do.

I believe that work like this does not go unnoticed. I have heard so many instances of people doing the same kind of thing as you (doing others work, not making a fuss, rising above it etc) and ending up being selected for promotion, or being well rewarded, and/or winning over the respect of the other workers. God does not miss it either.
Similar has happened me.
Give me your name and I will pray for you; I feel led to do that.

Currently I run my own business so problem free, but I have endured many taunts and ridiculing comments in previous employment. I had a massive problem in a person who was more vocal than me in professing his 'christianity', but very openly engrossed in worldly pursuits and standards, making witnessing virtually impossible and weakening my stand on faith matters as undoubtedly he would agree to everything that was unchristian that I was not agreeing with.
A different kind of problem, perhaps.

It really makes me mad that I have the skills and references to do work that companies now prefer hiring illegal aliens to do. The employers will comment "they are willing to do work that Americans won't do". Really? And exactly what line of work is that?
I have done some pretty bad work. Ever work at a truck stop? I have. I'd have to say that is among the worst.
  • Having to go in the restrooms and clean up after people that you swear never had any potty training in all their lives. Fecal matter spread on the walls. Used tampons in the sink. Unidentified "ick" on the toilet seats. Snot on the mirrors. If my granddaddy caught me doing stuff like that he'd have beaten me like there ain't no tomorrow.
  • Or when I was cleaning out cattle trailers. A rain suit, boots, shovel & garden hose. And I swear sometimes it has to be a ten thousand pounds of cow manure.
  • Or digging ditches on a farm or ranch. BTDT.
  • Bucking hay & setting fence?
  • Wrestling with the cattle to get their ears tagged and get them vaccinated?
  • Crawling around all day on my knees weeding the fresh crops?
  • Repairing a busted septic line at a truck stop?
And I'm told that there is actually work too dirty for me? Never imagined that could happen. Now people decide for me IF work is too dirty for me? Hmmm.

My employment is a continual struggle , I work in an industry that is warped by lying and cheating , I do not want to mention the industry , but most companies in this industry operate the same way , more or less .
I have left jobs because of it , I even stated before starting a Job , I tell them that I do not cheat . They say ok , but later they ask me to cheat , so I end up leaving not long after. I have too many employments on my resume and its getting harder to find work .

Recently I have been asking the Lord about what to do ? find other work ? or what ?
It has been a real matter of prayer , and very difficult position to be in at this point of my life.
My last employer called me up and asked to talk with me .
First thing he said was you really are hung up on this legal stuff .Why ? I told him because I am a Christian . He tried to tell me how I was wrong , but I held my ground , and in the end he said I can get you work that can be done legally . We shook hands.

I must thank the Lord , because I have left a number of jobs and was refused to be hired because of this sort of thing .

God is faithful , and I say Amen again !
