Quite well done.

The portrayal of "Jesus as Insurgent Leader"begs a comparison between the Roman occupation of that land and the current American occupation of Iraq (and, of course, the even more heinous Zionist occupation of Palestine).

If Jesus were in Iraq today, fighting for the poor, Bush would be vowing to hunt him down and kill him and damn the cost.

And....... if he were in Palestine, the more efficient Zionists would have killed him and his entire family by now (and bulldozed their homes for good measure).

History is not only written by the winning side......it repeats itself.

It is an interesting excursion into critical analysis of The Gospels... I particularly the discussion of Josephus and the RUSSIAN translation of Jewish Wars as it differs from the Greek.

i read quite a bit of it.

very interesting read KCDAD. i liked how they put all the references on there as well.

makes me curious to read The Gospel of Thomas (i have it, but i'm a procrastinator with reading.) makes me also curious about the Q document and the Jesus Seminar.

i'll try to read it again more, just after reading most of it, i had to take a break...only cause of the longevity of it :) learned some new things in regards to the history of the time Christ lived.

thanks for the link :)

While I do beleive that Jesus was (and Christianity should be) subversive:

-The site brings up that Jesus was executed on political, instead of religious, grounds. However, Jesus taught for a good while. The authorities had plenty of time. The Pharisees (the religious authorities) would not have hidden Him, but didn't bring Him before the Roman authorities until about the time He did that whole last supper/first communion bit. Perhaps He was bringing about a new form of worship that didn't go along with what the religious authorities agreed with?

However, the whole thing is long, not easy to read, and it's about five past midnight where I'm at, so I won't be commenting on the whole thing.

I guess the anti Jewish leader of Iran is sort of your hero, right?

Foon Pontificates:

Don't get too confused, El......I'm against the murderers and thieves.

Race and religion have nothing to do with it.

Zionists invaded Palestine.

Americans invaded Iraq.

I would have been against the invading Romans, too......just like Jesus.

Foon, did you just compare Jesus to the insurgents in Iraq? Osama Bin Christ? Being the underdog doesn't automatically make someone right.
I wouldn't worry too much. I've come to the opinion that Mr. FOON is simply a provocateur. Probably feels the need for attention.

We don't want to be there, they are the reason we have to stay. If the insurgency would stop fighting against us and the now legitimate government there wouldn't be a war anymore.

Foon speaks:

Your "legitimate" government leaders would be dead in five minutes if they hit the street unprotected by their goon squads.

Do you comprehend what that means?

Dear Foon, again you have your facts wrong. Israel did not invade Palestine. In fact, the Arab neighbors have three times (at least) attacked Israel.

And why would leaders in Iraq be assassinated? Because the out of power Hussein followers and others from Syria Jordan and Iran want NO democracies in the Middle East. It is a feudal 14th century bunch of warlords afraid of freedom.

Foon Expounds:

History 101......the Zionists, with the help of the British, began invading Palestine in the late 1800s.

The war against that invasion has been going on ever since.

Why would the leaders of the illegitimate puppet Bush government be executed? Because they are traitors to Iraq.

That's pretty simple.

You will find that you can't force your favored type of government on a sovereign nation just because you so choose. They will resist and throw you and your thugs and your toadies out of Iraq.

Oh, you have a LOT to learn and will in the coming days.

History 202 .... the Arab nomads have been fighting over land since Jericho was built 10,000 years ago.
Why would the leaders of the illigitimate puppet Bush government be executed? Because they are traitors to Iraq. Traitors to Hussein? Or the assassins are traitors to Iraq?

Toadies? I haven't heard that since A Christmas Story... Your insults are getting more and more puerile. I have no thugs or toadies... I don't even have any fans.
Oh, you have a LOT to learn and will in the coming days.

I have a lot to learn. AMEN. The more I learn the more I realize how little I know. I can hardly wait... can you give me hint as to where this lesson will be originating? Hillary and Kerry have a big announcement?

The article sure makes one do some thinking.

I was not aware of all the famous rebel leaders before, during, and after, that time in Judea. But if Jesus had been a military leader, I do not see anyone building a turn the other cheek / love your enemies religion on this kind of a reputation.
