My office is in the house, so I'm used to "working from home," but I'm finding it a big adjustment to not be able to take services, visit others or really go out much at all. I'm spending hours each day doing pastoral care by phone. At the end of this, I'll probably not want to look at my phone for weeks!

Also, I wish present me could tell 6-months-ago me to invest in learning about streaming, online meetings, and all of that stuff, because trying to get up to speed on the fly is a pain.

I love it. Dogs, garden, orchard, sunshine. Beats all that moving from one place to another malarkey.

My brother was having a chat with a policeman.

Apparently domestic violence is rising fast and so are mental health incidents. The police have never been busier with almost continuous domestic issues.

The policeman said; that he almost quit the police force due to the heavy demand.

I've got projects to do and now the time to do them. Winter may be a bit more difficult. I'm retired but I have a Bible school. That has been suspended for obvious reasons. Routine is good. Create a to-do list, especially the jobs you put off when you are busy. And do the jobs! Lists are pointless if you do not carry out the tasks. Kids can get involved as well.

I'm glad there is finally a downside to the frantic pace we were keeping.
One day I thought traffic was moving kind of fast. Glancing down I noticed
that all four lanes of heavy traffic were moving in unison at 90 MPH.

I'm kind of an introvert anyway, so it wasn't a big challenge to stay home. Just chat with friends on the internet and cooking more elaborate meals. Reading books and watching my favorite movies on TV.

I thoroughly cleaned the bathroom. (I'm mean pumice stone clean.) Took most the day and wasn't fun...but I enjoy using the bathroom more than ever now. Simple pleasures are the best! :)

how are others doing & adjusting? (if you're home)
As I was mostly a volunteer and only did some part-time work my hours have been cut right down from around 30 hours to 4 or 5 hours a week. Mainly do a bit of phone support work at home and help for a couple of hours handing some food out. We have set up a food program where we get the delivery of donated food and then pack it in parcels and put a call out for people to come and get it. we get them to open the boot and we put it in without any close contact or paperwork at the moment.

But this has now left me with a lot of spare time and I find it hard to handle as I like being occupied. But I guess it is giving me time to do a lot of catching up on things. I have a couple of old lawnmowers to fix and managed to get one going today, you little beauty as my other one was falling apart. Also planning to do some work on my car. I like mechanical type work (thanks to Youtube) I have learned a bit. Also will do a bit of cleaning/sorting out stuff that has been stored away and not really used.

I am hearing that a lot of people are going mad and sad from being forced to stay at home and some cannot handle being confined to the same four walls. I think this is the consequence that people don't see right away that they have lost their jobs and livelihoods and suddenly they have nothing. Or those who had mental health problems have lost their support networks. This is causing a lot of mental health problems out in the community and the government is not addressing this. I don't know why they decided to close community centres like ours as this type of support is needed more than ever.
