Apparently, there is a law coming in effect in about a year that will require the "chip".

Can we confirm this?

If this is for real - then, wow, it's happening faster than I ever imagined!

Where do they want to put these chips? It says that the beast's followers will receive his mark or name in their forehead or right hand. If God tells me that this is the beast when the time comes, I'd rather die. I'll die for Jesus. I'll do anything for Jesus.

Looks like it was initially introduced in 05. Definately worth watching though. just seems like a national id card. as long as they dont make people take them in their right hand or in their forehead, it is just a step closer.

The willingness to die for Christ is admirable, and Scripture would require no less for a faithful witness to Jesus Christ. But in all honesty, isn't it rather simplistic to reduce the "mark" to a physical thing? Have you thought about the parody between the seal of God and the mark of the beast? Do the references to God's seal intend a physical mark? Unless we go with baptism as the "seal" (which is arguable), probably not.

I could be wrong about this, but I would suggest that the "mark" of the beast refers to our assent to said beast's wars and worship (the mark to the forehead--counter to the sign of baptism?), while our service of the beast's system of oppression is the beast's impression on the hand.

John's "mark of the beast" to the forehead or hand is based on Deut 6:8.

"You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they hall be as frontals on your forehead."

That is the inter-testamental source from which John draws the "beastly" mark. It is in parody. Speaking of Deut 6:8, look at what occurs in context!

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might" (Deut 6:5).

This is the text cited by Jesus in Mt 22:37-40. Note that Jesus there says that to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might is also the sum of all that the law and prophets wrote (Mt 22:40). This makes the beast's "mark" Satanic parody with Dt 6:5 a total repudiation of all that Moses and the prophets wrote. Could that qualify one as a beast or false prophet? Hmmmm. I wonder.

I know someone who went to a used car dealer meeting & the speaker was informing the group that the governement wants to standardized state information on individuals by using the card. He advised everyone there to have an upto date passport at least.

He also said that when this law goes into effect there will be massive lines at the division of motor vehicles as the current drivers licenses will not be considered valid ID. It is rather chilling isn't it?

Ok, let's say for a second here that this little 'chip' is required for everyone to get in order to buy food. So you going to let your little babies starve to death and tell them that this chip is the mark of the beast and God wants all the little children to starve to death? I don't think so...be reasonable people.

I remember after the Omen movie came out, all the parents raced home to make sure their sons didn't have 666 on their scalp. Can't remember if I checked mine or not.
