Hi, I'm just curious to hear if anyone else does the same type of fasting that I do.

Since I was 15 I have been doing this type of fasting... it's a form of vegetarian. During the 40 days, I don't eat any animal food products or any food made from animals like foods with eggs, milk, etc.

Also no fishes or seafood. Anyone else do the same?

during the two lents, 40 days before Christmas and 40 days before Easter, Orthodox fast from animal products. no meat or dairy products or eggs.

fish is allowed during the Lent before Christmas but not during the Lent before Easter.
seafood in general are allowed.

animal products like honey are always allowed.

i've heard in the TAW that wine is not allowed also.

hope that helped!

At the moment I am a doing a no meet fast, including sea food. this fast I'm doing is only for a mouth. I felt that the LORD wanted me to do this fast.

I have another friend that is doing a no meet fast - the funny thing is, that we didn't know that we were both doing the same fast, until a week or so later.

It sounds like what you are talking about is Veganism. I am a vegetarian anyway, so eat no meat or fish, but the times I have tried veganism I have found it very difficult.

Veganism is also very difficult to keep to simply because nearly all food contains eggs, milk or some other animal product.

One other thing I have tried giving up, not for religious reasons, but for health, is wheat. It is difficult, but without wheat you feel always lighter. There are many alternatives to wheat as well ... rye flour, rice flour, etc. It is difficult, but worth it ... and you get to try new foods.
