CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Oh...well, the only thing I know about is if you know someone with a particular file you're looking for (of any media type) they could DCC send it to you.
I got a couple of movie files that way from a friend.

When your in the IRC chatroom talking with others they can send you a most any type of file via DCC as AngelAmidala has said. But remember that a virus can be sent as well so be on your guard when recieving files from others. Virus protection is a very good thing to have. I have sent and recieved files via IRC and find it a convenience since you don't have to give your email address out in order to recieve a file from someone. I use the mIRC program to chat with. There are many other IRC programs out there. I don't know if you can send a file in ICQ-IRC chat or not. I only have known about it when I was in another forum before CF had it here.

But before you do anything, remember that different channels have different rules. Type !rules after you enter the channel, and you will be able to see what the channel allows and what they do not. That doesn't work in all the channels, so in that case, you either have to wait and see what other people do...or go to a different channel.

Ignore the whole pokemon stuff. I was trying to find a webpage that did a good job with teaching how to use fserve, and I feel that this one shows you quite well.
As for XDCC...I'm not sure how that works. But if you're looking for files, www.xgoogle.com is a great search engine.

While I don't believe that piracy should be condoned, you can always bypass mIRC and aquire your "media" using torrent files. It's harder to get individual music files, but you can acquire more popular media types, e.g. movies, games, etc. Another good thing about the torrents, is that they're usually an image and not a rip. So you're chances of getting a virus are much lower.

you can get movies/games off of mIRC. it may take a bit of time, depending on how big the queue list is. sometimes, you can find one where you don't have to wait at all.
i usually get tv episodes though. movies, i don't really care for, because i don't watch very many movies as it is. anyways, but that's cool.
