I had ordered a vacuum cleaner through an internet store...LOVE the vacuum and the company i bought it from. However, i agreed to "extra protection" through a "Google Trusted Stores" thing-a-ma-jig that sorta' "guarantees" your purchase...if there's a problem yu gets yer money back, etc.

Well ok, no problem, right? Amazon does that and they've been great as far as intervening if there's a problem with a merchant. BUT here's the problem:

Ever since ordering the vacuum cleaner and ok'ing this Google Store thing, there has been this little "icon" at the top right corner of my page when i get on the internet (when i click on it, it asks me if i prefer being "incognito", then if i click on yes, the icon disappears)

Anybody know what this is, and/or how i get rid of it?

Thanks.

I only do the eBay and Amazon, and sometimes iTunes/AppStore. I wouldn't be curious because it seems like same as eBay buyer protection, but asking for your SSN seems like a red flag. I looked it up and I guess Google is doing a Google Wallet thing that seems like a competitor to Paypal. Is that the thing you use? My guess is the incognito thing is so that Google doesn't have permission to track and log your online shopping, which they no-doubt presumably do for research purposes.

I prefer Ebay....Google is irritating and worrisome, especially since there's no way to really contact them, and keep them accountable for their BAD ideas and give them feedback about it.

Ugh!!!

Most likely it's either a browser plugin or an installed program. The problem is it has access to your browsing unless you turn it off. IOW it mines your personal info.

IIRC you use chrome. You can go to chrome settings / extensions and look for it. Then type chrome://plugins in the address bar and look there.

Then go to Control Panel / Programs and features and look for it there.
