I was born in IA but raised in WI. My 3 sibs were born in LaCrosse; we lived in Onalaska, near LaC, for 8.5 years. Since we lived outside of Onalaska itself, my brother and I went to school in the Holmen district -- Evergreen Elementary and Holmen MS. We left during my 4th grade year. (I was in one of the first two 4th grade classes at HMS because the elementary schools around were getting too full!) My dad was born/raised in the Christian Reformed Church, so we attended the one in Onalaska.

Hi everyone!

Racine here. (Right below Milwaukee) I have lived here (with the exception of one year) all of my life. For some reason, I am still trying to think of (LOL), I will always live here. The only problem that I am having here is finding a really good Non-Denomination church. The one church that I do go to is in Winthrop Harbor in Illinois. I love that church but it is so far away from me. (About 40 minutes one way.)

Hey fellow cheeseheads! I've been a member of CFs for 1 year now. I live in Wausau and have all my life except a 3 year stint in California. Anyway I thought I'd add myself to the list.

I'm living and going to college in Milwaukee. This is my third year. My hometown is small - about an hour southwest of here. I never thought I'd enjoy living in Milwaukee, but I do. Anyone know of any good places in the area for Christians to hang out at?

I know of a good church if you haven't found one yet;).

Meet some of you in Chicago events sometime?

Or Lake Michigan boat trips maybe?

I wait a US work visa, to help my fiancee's church in Decatur, Illinois, & hopefully the proposed new regional Christian TV/radio station, covering events/festivals all over the Midwest

We in Liverpool, UK, have used Isle of Man cruises for Christian festivals & celebrations
so I'm sure enterprising Chicago & Detroit megachurches team up with similar use of Lake Michigan's beauty & popularity!

Wonderful names Wisconsin places have by the way: Bob Hope loved Milwaukee stories, didn't he?

I don't know if this is what you had in mind but Milwaukee is going to be starting up there ferry service again. Leaveing Milwaukee and going across Lake Michigan to Muskegan. When they have this running again this is definately something I would like to do! Here's the website for the ferry service.

This will be the biggest ferry in the country with the longest trip. I believe they say it will take over 2 hours to cross.

In my opinion Milwaukee has the most beautiful lake shore of any city on the Great Lakes! I know Chicago's skyline is very impressive but I'll take parkland, tree's, and bluffs (those are cliffs for you Brittish) in an urban setting anyday!

Do you have a church you attend regularly? 'cause I know that there are TONS of opportunities that can be found in the church itself. Other than that, though there's this one place that opened called
Fair Grounds or s/t...well, whatever, they have live music on occasion and basically, it's a coffehouse w/ some pretty wicked chai!! but also, keep in mind there are live events that go on her in mil-town too, just listen to the FISH radio station~they do good in keeping people posted on concert events, etc...Also, regardless of if it's labeled "christian" or not, the east side..oh, the east side...has TONS of cool spots to hang out at...all depends on what you like to do!...just stay away from bourb..I mean, water street!!!....well, hope you like it !!! :)
