  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Any Tips?

cut back on salt (if you eat any) and drink lots of water. Prop your feet up and stay off of em
Actually- it is dangerous for a woman to limit her intake of salt too much (especially iodozed salt)--some studies have linked it to toxemia. Salt is an essential electrolyte...be wary of going crazy cutting oput salt- it will actually make the swelling worse.

But lots and lots of water really does help-- as does the feet elevating thing. As does being really lazy :D

The electrolyte connection is important, salt to taste.

Agree with leg raising, and drinking about a gallon of water a day. Also, cucumbers and watermelon act like natural diuretics. And immersion in water, especially deep water, can help move interstitial fluid out of the tissues into the kidneys to be excreted, so deep tubs and swimming pools are good that- or hot tubs set at 101F or lower are okay too.

Hope that helps. :)

Try support stockings. They are like tight knee socks. You can get them in the drug store. I have not tried them but they have helped my step-father when his legs and ankles would swell when he was driving for long periods of time.
haha well they're not that bad yet. I think in this Texas heat I would probably just melt into a puddle if I put those on! Thanks for the advice though :).

I've been cutting back a little on sodium and it's seemed to help. I've finally decided it's mostly the heat that's causing my problem.
