beautiful orange peeling bark and smooth branches underneath....glossy green leaves and berries.....they look exotic in the rough, craggy canyons.....

Wow, that tree looks very exotic to me, Lutherrunner!

I live in an area with many trees, many different kinds of trees, ... right outside my windows ... and I think they all have their charm. I guess we have other trees here in Norway that maybe are rare for instance in the USA, where most of you forum friends live. Nice to read your messages in here.

Here is a pic of the Norwegian ''dvergbjørk'', which means ''dwarf birch'', ''betula nana'' in Latin, and it won't get any taller than abt. 50 cm, which is less than 2 feet. It sure is in the birch ''family''. It grows only up in the mountains. It is funny to have such miniature trees. Do you have anything similar in the USA for instance??

In west Texas there is Monahans Sandhills State Park, with a 40,000 acre "forrest" of Harvard Oaks......that rarely reach a height of 3 feet......

Here is a variety of Japanese Red Maple that landscapers love to use. More info on them

It has been such a blessing to see how many folks love trees. I sincerely hope that everyone who owns property and has room, plants trees. I loved planting acorns from different oaks when I lived in the country, plus black walnuts, white pine seedlings and and the beautiful Norway Spruce seedlings with it's tiered branches. I go by the property where my husband and I lived now & then just to see how much the trees have grown. I miss them so much! The evergreen seedlings were planted in spring of '90 and they are 25-30' tall now! Also planted a maple, white flowering Dogwood,Flowering,Pear. Royalty Red Flowering Crabapple, Redbud,Pin Oak,fruit trees and English walnuts. We had just under 9 acres,so had plenty of room. So much love and care and watering and feeding went into them,LOL! But now they can bring joy to another family.

Hello, i have some pictures hope to post soon of this giant "somekind of tree" that i pass by on my bike. Hope to post it up soon, the owner told me that they bought the tree and the house came with it.

There is this tree in my yard and when i go up to it i put my hands on it and it feels like i'm encouraging a dog by patting it's bark ....i've seen another tree in not to well of an area and it seemed like it was upset perhaps enven angry...I've never really thought like this and hope it's not vain imaginations...just asking what others think or feel?

I've always had some sort of deep spiritual connection to the forest. I love looking at trees, sitting under them, and climbing them. When spring comes and the forests turn green again, it mesmerizes me and fills me with intense joy. I don't know why, perhaps because I grew up near a large forest and played in the woods all the time as a child, surrounded by only the carpet of fallen leaves from the previous season, the green, and plenty of wildlife.

I'm in Northern Indiana, so it's Temperate Deciduous Forest here. Meaning we have four seasons and mostly trees that lose their leaves, such as oak, maple, birch, beech, walnut, hickory... and many others. There are also the occasional pine tree as well, but those are usually found planted in yards.

Honestly, I wouldn't live in any other biome :D

It fills my heart with delight to see huge trees....standing their ground, reaching to the heavens, and exploding in an array of colors that leaves one breathless.

I love trees. Walking amongst them, leaves twiling to the ground, a crunchy, multi-colored carpet, and the sun dancing through the branches with glimpses of blue sky peeking through.

I gaze at trees and I breeeeathe....

Brinny wonderfully descriptive post about the majesty of trees, and thank you for the beautiful photo of the yellow leaved tree. Norway Unn your photo of the trees in their Fall Glory made my breath catch from the beauty! I had to save both of these wonderful pictures. Thank you both, and Thank You Lord for creating such beauty.
