  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Any one here feel like they are from the tribe of E'phriam

My family keeps Hahalacha, and all four children were raised keeping Hahalacha as well. Yet we were also born Roman Catholic and though my father's side has Jewish roots, my mothers does not. My husband knows of no Jewish roots in his past.

Yet the rabbis state keeping Hahalacha as a non Jew is impossible and keeping this in isolation is also impossible. Yet through HaMoshiach all things are possible and we, my family are proof. So I curious. Are there and others like us on this site learning about Hahalacha but without proof of a Jewish root?

As a practicing Messianic I would like to implore all members that may post below to please bear in mind that this thread is to find like-minded individuals on the forums.
This thread is not about debating points of Messianic or Ephramite differences.
Posts doing so would be off topic to the thread.

To answer the OP:
I do not have Jewish roots that I know of. I keep a version of Halacha that I have kept for several years now. At one point I started a Jewish conversion class, but I did not finish. I however do feel a deep connection to the Jewish people and the Jewish faith - a heart for Judaism as the Rabbis say.

Todah Rabah, we started the same way. Our first Passover was a joke but now years later we are growing more and more orthodox. We never sought conversion but most of what we learned about Hahalacha (the Hebrew laws) came from Jewish site like Chasbah.org and Torah.org. Where did you learn Hahalacha? Are you doing this alone?

A variety of sources. First Fruits of Zion and Beth Immanuel, Chabad, URJ, MJAA, SHJ, and then a number of other written sources related to the conversion class.

My wife is supportive and my son is too young to know otherwise, however we did have him attending a JCC daycare until the pandemic closed everything.

Cool, Our kids are all grown. Our Son married and he keeps a more conservative form of Hahalcha and his wife is also supportive. They have only a cat. Our other son moved away and is not following any faith. Our daughters are still at home and help us clean for Pesach. I tend toward Chabad right now. They helped us through a shortage of oat Matza problem last year explaining we could make our own if we cannot get any for any issue. He gave how to go about it as well.

Its nice to hear from another person following Hahalacha who does not judge other Christians. I hope there are others out there as well. Someday I like to see joint synagogues, in areas where MJ and Ephraimites are in large numbers.

Are you part of a Messianic congregation?

Not actively. I have been to the local ones, but they are not really my "scene". Usually I end up at a Reform synagogue for High Holidays. I am a member at a UMC church as well as I do follow all the Christian holidays too, but we do our own Sabbath observance on Friday evenings at home. I find the celebrating of both Christian and Jewish holidays to be very enlightening for my path.

I agree following both holidays enlightening except when conflicts occur. Still I also notice that same issues has caused us to be far more creative as well.
