I was wondering if any one here has had any dreams of religious themes. If you had would you please share what parts you remember? I've done some limited dream research and understand we can influence to a degree what we dream if we try hard enough and long enough. usually certain events during the day, or perhaps the last thing we were thinking of for example could turn in to a dream. I have tried long and hard to dream spiritually or in a religious theme with no results yet. Which led me to wonder if such thing is even possible. Surely it must be! Looking forward to replies!

this: in dreamscape-not linear time-I saw a child struggling with a very big man who was grabbing the boy to throw him into this oven of flames-in front of this was an old woman in a rocking chair-seemingly unmoved; unconcerned. I was shocked at the horror before me- I jumped on the big man's shoulders-he flicked me off like a fly-I then ran over to the woman distressed and grabbed hold of the arm of the rocker and appealed to this woman to notice, to care, to do something. This old woman rocked on seemingly oblivious to the child's fate. I couldn't believe she didn't care.
Then I looked to the left and began walking in the countryside to a hill where I saw a huge crowd of people-from my distance I could only see a figure of a man in white speaking forth to the crowd. I got to the rise in the hill and I could see him afar but more clearly- a wave of the most lovingest love warm and gentle yet powerful washing over me-and a cheerfulness of mind I felt too. I stood there basking in this-after a moment this man turned away from the crowd; me too- and all the love and cheer went with him. The loneliness and despair was bleak, colorless pervasive. I woke up.

Work on "Hearing God" as He would have you listen. Not through the confines of a domination or one specific view or religion.

Ask for your Portion of the holy Spirit as it says in Luke 11:5-13 and hang on to something. You may not be given Dreams but what you do get will be from the Holy Spirit and it will require your full attention.

What are you talking about and why do you assume I need preaching to?

I'm asking for dreams here not preaching lol

Thank you just the same,

now do you have a dream to share?

Because you are in a "Preaching to" section of this web site and you are seeking something I have found. You expressed an interest in find for yourself what i have found, so I am simply telling you where to look. (God willing that it be given to you.)

now do you have a dream to share?
Several, but they all come with a lesson (more preaching) and we both know how you feel about that...

I have had a lot of dreams, but few with a religious theme. I did have one last night however. It goes as follows:

There were various attempts at witnessing to people and at each attempt I noticed that some of the people in these situations would try to discredit me, using various methods that were embarassing to me. Finally I saw a picture of a person who worshiped satan himself, he had cut himself with a knife, and bloood flowed from the wound, he had stitched up a part of the scar, thhis person approached me with a knife, I remember hearing myself quote John 3:16 to him saying "God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believed in him should not perish but have eternal life", and some thing about God loving all people. As this was said a voice spoke to me and said "I have called you to suffer for my name", and the satan worshiper took the knife and carved out a scar in my flesh.

I still don't know whether that dream came from God or from satan. I don't put much weight on dreams. Not personally. I do have visions when I am awake from time to time, and these often predict future events in my life. So I would prefer to just pray and if God does something then great. The bible says seek earnestly spiritual gifts. There is nothing wrong with it. But from experience I think most revelation from God comes when we are fully awake.

I've had a few of those dreams.

In the one dream, myself and my wife were on vacation somewhere. We needed some items from the grocery store, so I went out to get the items we needed. On my way, I got lost, and since the area was completely new to me, I felt terrible. I remember praying to the Lord, pleading for help in finding my way back. Right then, I heard a voice, coming from the sky above, saying:

"My child, where are you right now?"

As the question was asked, the realization came that all I saw around me was merely a dream. I answered "I am asleep, in my bed, oh Lord"

To which, the reply was:

"So, my child, what do you need to do to get back to your wife?"

The realization came that all I need do is to wake up, which I promptly did. What was truly wonderful for me, was that even though this was merely a dream, the answer came. The thought of the Lord being there for us, even when we sleep, is a comforting one indeed. :amen:

It is possible, I have had them, but I relieve believe when we try to force it it falls under the category of divination which is forbidden by scripture. We can pray for them but God only gives them in his timing which is often rare and for many believers sometimes never happens

I had a thought on this topic. That is that when we are asleep we have no control over our thoughts so can not filter what comes in. When we are awake, in prayer, we have more control over our senses, so it is a more likely time for God to communicate with you.
