Any non-Calvinists use ESV as primary Bible?

The ESV is close to the NASB in translation...but I think it lags behind the NASB in translation accuracy.

I thought the NASB was the most accurate or at least most literal critical text translation according to many.

I think we have more than enough critical text versions. I'd love for there to be a major new translation based on the majority text. This claims to be the only one based on it:

Analytical-Literal Translation of the New Testament: Second Edition

The NKJV is generally considered a majority text version.

To get to the original question of the thread the ESV is very popular in the conservative non-instrumental Churches of Christ, which are not only non-Calvinist but fiercely anti-Calvinist.

The NIV is out of print (or will be very soon), and will go the way of the ASV, as popular as that was in its day. Something will come in and fill the void. I think it will be the NLT.
I'm not so sure. The backlash may make them change their mind because they will lose money big time.

It reminds me of Coke's experiment with the "New Coke"...we saw what happened there.

As I said, I'm not an NIV guy...but I think it's a pretty good translation. I think Zondervan will rethink this...but we'll see.

If we want to be really picky, technically the NKJV is Textus Receptus based not Majority Text (The TR being based on far less manuscripts and differing in around a thousand places).

Interesting, don't believe I've heard of those Churches. I think the Calvinist bias will always come up at some time or another despite it not being just Calvinists who use it.
