CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Nope, I'm not from MI, not even from America. Though hopefully I'll be going there - both America and MI (I've got friends there) - in either 2005 or 2006.

"Yoopers" are Michigan-ers that live in the "U.P." (Upper Peninsula). "Trolls" are those that live downstate Michigan, below the Mackinac Bridge, hence "Trolls" that live below the bridge. Get it? Heh heh.

Oh he does, trust me. He moved up there to get away from Detroit, and he doesn't like the traffic and big city life. He sells tires up there and used to do tool and die. Curtis is a wonderful small town.ShetlandRose said:
Another interesting spot up there is Whitefish Point. It is very very cold even in the summer because of Lake Superior. The Soo and the Soo Locks are excellent places to go visit. There is a nice little zoo up on US 2, near Engadine I believe. It's small but really fun. I love the UP.
