Any FSSP Catholics?

I attend an FSSP Mass In Rapid City South Dakota which is about 2-1/2 hours north of me. It is a dedicated Latin Mass Community there and the Mass is celebrated in it's own historic chapel - it's not even set up for the new Mass as it's an old chapel that fell into disuse before the New Mass became the norm. The priest than ran it for many years was an old Fransican priest who used to help teach at the FSSP seminary in Denton, Nebraska. And many of the seminarians from there would stay in rapid City for a time because it was a Latin Mass Community - which means everything it does, from Confession to marriage to funerals is all done according to the traditional rite.

It's part of the Diocese of Rapid City.

But I haven't been able to get up there for well over a year now and instead attend the local Novus Ordo Mass here in town.

This seminary has a longer program than most seminaries as it seeks to provide a full thomistic spiritual grounding..

2 out of the 3 priests at my Church were formerly FSSP, but have been since incardinated into the Archdiocese (they do, however, remain very traditional, and our community celebrates the EF Mass exclusively).

All my experience with FSSP priests has been overwhelmingly positive.

I've only been to an ICKSP mass. :) It was a good evening and good experience. Although, Father had a very thick German/Austrian accent; hence, he was hard to understand.

Then I suppose that I do not need to hear your reason.

If you want to play games, that is fine. I thought the question was rather simple and my only intention was to help you on your way. I'll just let you know that I am in seminary and very close to my ordination. I am also probably more familiar/knowledgeable about the fraternity than anyone else here (and have a worn 1962 Missal in front of me). I could have really helped you.

When did I ask for opinions or whether I should or should not? I've only asked for your reason for why I should not join the FSSP when you made your statement.

I have no problem with the FSSP. Quite the contrary. I actually got into some trouble over my affiliation with them when entering seminary. I know many of their priests.

I stated that a person such as yourself should not join them and I believe I have been affirmed in that response.

Now, why do you want to be a priest?

Feel free to tell me to mind my own business, but I'd be interested in why your affiliation with them would be an issue to (pressumably) those in charge of your seminary?
