Any Eureka fans out there?

I love Eureka. It's on my top favorites list - and my kids can watch it too. That makes it awesome.

Last week's episode was shocking though - I wasn't expecting that! And reading the writer's blog - dead is really DEAD. Not like other Sci Fi where there might be a comeback. I do hope they address that in future episodes and they don't just have everyone move on as if nothing had happened. :(

I like all the characters (well most of them anyway)
Ditto.

Which leads me to Twich's post. I never saw that episode. I hope Zane got it. I hate "hip, cool computer-whiz" type characters.

Is anyone else worried the story with the kid with the connection to that 'artififact' is going to get out of control? Seems too much like a back-up source of intrigue and mystery for when the writers are short on ideas to me.

They haven't addressed the artifact yet this season at all - we haven't even seen her son. Which really - wedding - you know - all that stuff - SHOULDN'T we have some mention of her son? I hate when they do that. Kids should be mentioned at least - they don't need to be featured - but you can have them seen once or twice or talked about at some point!

That's probably my biggest peeve about the show. (Which really isn't big enough to annoy me or make me dislike it- still love the show.) But the writing falls in that point.

Yeah, me too, I really disliked Zane right from the start because he was so 'typical' of hollywood generated characters. The bad-boy but with brains. I love all the other characters most of whom don't fit the mold (so to speak). They seem more like 'real people' to me in their appearance and even in their mannerisms than a character like Zane does.

HEY TWICH -- Where did you find the TARDIS in the avatar page. I looked but didn't see it.

This is typical of writing these days. One thing they like to do is leave out a character they focus on in an arc as soon as that arc is over. Hence the kid gets left out and the artifact to some degree too because it has no main prominence in the plotting for the season. SG:Atlantis has done this too. They focused so much on Teyla's pregnancy last season and once the baby was born and the mama drama was done with, they have her back out on missions and I'm not even sure what happened to the kid.

One of my biggest pet peeves about TV shows recently is that the seasons are so SHORT!!! Sheesh. Eureka was on how long (about 7 or 8 episodes and it's back on hiatus again???) Grrr... I looked forward to see it and they finally put it back on and it's gone again. Even Dr. Who seasons have gotten much shorter. Very disappointing. The show catches on like "Primeval" and you can bet it's going to go to a shorter season next year.
