  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The closest RPG I know of is "Darklands" which takes place in the Holy Roman Empire around the time of the Hussite Wars. It has "Templars", but this is about 100 years after the Order was dissolved, so they're evil cultists.

If you're looking to kill Mohammedons in the the near east during the High Middle Ages, you'll probably have to roleplay in "Medieval:Total War" or something.

There was a Crusader TC for "Rome:Total War", but I don't think it was ever released.

Depending on what exactly you're looking for, the "Mediavel:TW" TC "Pike and Musket" might be a great choice. It's a lot later than the more famous crusades though (late 15th-early 19th century, depending on when you start). They're making it for MTW 2 too, but I have no idea if that's released yet, not having Medieval 2.

There's also the RTS "Stronghold:Crusader", and a strategy/country management game called "Crusader Kings".
