  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My Husband and I lost a baby on May 18th. I lost 4+ pints of blood and had to be rushed to the ER. They told me to wait at least 3 months until we tried agian.:( It is one and a half weeks away from bieng 3 months exactly.

We had unprotected sex on the 6th. It was one day after my cycle had ended. I keep reading that it isn't very likely to get pregnant that soon into your cycle. Exactly how possible is it? I would love to have another child. I just don't want to get too excited if it isn't very likely. I also don't want to miscarry again because of not waiting long enough. :(

Any advice of comments would be helpful. Thank you all so much. God Bless!

I would say it is very very very unlikely. Are you breastfeeding? That (I belive..) has some factors in the "getting prgenant again" situation.

I was under the impression that it was usually in the following 10-20 days after a period that it was concieving time.

Anyways, relax babe! You are in God's Hands. :)

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I run a site for women who are miscarrying and one thing we've seen is that women who miscarry tend to be more 'fertile'. Seems as if after a miscarriage, your body makes up for it and women 'tend' to get pregnant a bit easier. I say 'tend' because there will be women who still have difficulties getting pregnant.

Some doctors say to wait a month, some say three months. It really varies from doctor to doctor. It's always best to wait one month because they like to be sure of dates and they like to know when you had your last period.

I don't know if you could have gotten pregnant. Because women appear to be more fertile after a miscarriage and research is starting to look at ovulation differently, I'd say there is a chance you could have conceived. It might be a small chance but it is certainly not impossible. You're close enough to your three-month mark that you'd be fine. I've talked to so many women who conceived before their next period and ended up fine.

I hope you get the best of news soon.

Well, I started spotting today. My period isn't due for another 3 weeks. It has been 6 days since we had sex. Could it be the implantation spotting?

No, I am not breastfeeding. My daughter is 15 months.

The reason they told me to wait 3 months is because I lost so much blood. I was enemic. They said it would take 3 months to get my blood back to normal.

I want to be pregnant, but I know it is up to God. I guess whatever happens is His will.

It is just difficult to tell what is causing the spotting. Be careful if you are anemic though. I'm been suffering from severe-iron-deficiency anemia since the birth of my daughter and I know anemia can cause a lot of problems. I now have heart issues because of it. Are you still taking supplements and have you been tested to make sure you are healthy again?

Right now it is more important that you be completely healthy. If you're not healthy you could put a baby at risk. I'd really recommend you get a check up and let the doctor pronounce you healthy.

God bless.

Yes, schedule a checkup. You probably are doing better. I know with my anemia, it is very apparent when my iron levels are back up. I can always tell when my iron is starting to decline again.

A checkup is always a good idea just to get the official go ahead and you can always have a pregnancy test done if need be.

I am a bit late here, but I wanted to mention, I concevied two out of three (possible the middle one too) right after a MC. I know it prolly isn't what the docs wanted, but it worked out (one healthy happy 3yo boy, and 7 months pregnant with BBY3) so it happens and it worked out.

Do get that test though, like Oregal said, you can't trust your body to be so regular or anything and you need to know for sure. Let us know how it goes :).

I have a pretty good feeling about it.:) I have that funny feeling in my stomache. Certain things are making me feel sick. I don't have the tender breats yet, but I don't remember having them with my last pregnancy (before I miscarried). I have had the 'aching' feeling in my abdomen for a couple of days. Even if I didn't get pregnant the first time. We made love on my 'most fertile day' without protection (that was his choice).

I guess I won't know until I am expecting AF.:sigh: I will let you know on or around the 27th ( when I plan to test).

Please pray that if I am that it will be a healthy pregnancy. I am so scared of another miscarriage!:prayer:

Thank you!

I remember with my son, I tested on the day my period was due and it was negative and had been several days prior. I had to go in because I had walking pneumonia and they decided to test me anyway. The nurse called later to congratulate me and I just didn't believe her but she was right.

My recommendation, if you're not already doing so, go to the Dollar Store and get yourself a few of those dollar hpt's and just test each morning that your period doesn't start. If you end up getting your period, you're only out a few bucks.

Hope you get good news soon.

A couple things... the dollar tree tests are 1/4 as sensitive as the walmart tests, so you might want to spend the extra and get the $3 test from walmart instead, if it's this soon. As for whether it's possible, I wonder how long your monthly cycle is. If you have a four week cycle, it's unlikely. If you have a three week cycle, it's quite possible. I know that for the past few years I've frequently ovulated the day after my period ended.
