Self repairing plastic, self repairing wire and self repairing artificial muscle fibre have all been developed fairly recently.

Bionic eyes, artificial hearts, 3D printed plastic skull fragments, machine that use cloned human muscle; the future looks bright for Robotics and Prosthetics.

Cucumbers have a reputation for being boring.
This is far from true if you know what your doing with them.

With only a little bit of imagination, if you stick cheese and pickle in the sandwich with it, it goes down a treat.

It's not meant to carry a sandwich by itself! It's a supporting filling! Why must the world expect so much of it...

Peel and slice thinly.
Dice up an onion very finely or cut into thin rings.
Add a teaspoon of mustard, one or two tablespoons of sugar and a teaspoon of salt.
Then, add vinegar so that all cucumber is covered, plus an extra splash. Stir to combine, then refrigerate for a few hours.
Makes an excellent sidedish, sweet and sour and tangy and stuff.

Noted.

Prefer a specific kind of mustard and vinegar?

I loves me some English mustard, but it can be a bit strong for some applications.

Mustard is the only spice native to the UK.
This fact is one of our common retroactive excuses for Empire.

I use Dijon mustard most often, but it doesn't really matter. Mustard is optional anyway. Vinegar has to have a good acidity, so no balsamic or apple or rice vinegar, but other than that it doesn't really matter.

Am Dutch, same here. I've had Indian food. I can't blame you guys. :)

I have way to much Indian food...or rather our British bastardisations...(Wow, can't believe that made it through the filter)

Tikka Masala, Balti, Vindaloo; none of it is directly derived from a dish from India/Pakistan. Though saying that, dishes evolve, so perhaps it would be wrong to claim them as not truly Indian/Pakistani in origin.

In absence of facts on dead threads, instead I will share "Warnock's Dilemma", something I stumbled on not long ago(and admittedly could of easily been placed on Wikipedia for self-publicity).
It reads as follows:
The problem with no response is that there are five possible interpretations:
  • The post is correct, well-written information that needs no follow-up commentary. There's nothing more to say except "Yeah, what he said."
  • The post is complete and utter nonsense, and no one wants to waste the energy or bandwidth to even point this out.
  • No one read the post, for whatever reason.
  • No one understood the post, but won't ask for clarification, for whatever reason.
  • No one cares about the post, for whatever reason.

—Bryan C. Warnock
Warnock's dilemma - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An interesting take on the death of threads.(and perhaps a source of comfort for those who feel their threads died too soon)

I wonder if there is a scientific field dedicated to studying online interaction, and how big it is.

Hooray!

My favorite thread in all history is alive.

But I cant think of a fact.

That's okay, I will post two facts hopefully relevant to New Year celebrations.

I don't know much about fireworks, but what I do know is that the colour of fireworks are dependant on what element it is combusting, the only one coming to mind being copper for green, if I remember correctly.

This year, the majority of London's new year fireworks were launched from boats.
While I would love to suggest this is to symbolise our great navel heritage, chances are, it was simple so they could launch the fireworks in front of the London Eye, which was also rigged...with fireworks.

Personally I hate New years day, and January.
If there was a "Bah humbug" appropriate for this event, I would be using it.

Only champagne from Champagne can be called champagne.
Otherwise, it's usually referred to as sparkling wine.

Yes, My $12 bottle is Sparkling wine 'En Méthode Champagnois'.

Wal-Mart carries two brands of real champagne though.

Ah Wal-Mart...tend to hear nothing about them but horror stories when comes to working with or for them. At least on this side of the pond.

Asda is their foray into the UK super market scene, not sure how connected and similar they are to their parent company mind you.

The UK finished paying off it's debt to the US from the first two world wars in 2006.

Broookeerrrrr

I decided it was time to try something new, use an avatar of a person I have a positive inclination towards.

Only one man both ticked that box and was devilishly handsome enough.
That I had just watched 2015 Wipe had nothing to do with it. At all.

While Mars almost certainly had liquid water at some point in it's past, it's also believed possible that Venus also enjoyed such, billions of years ago.

Could it be, that there have been three planets capable of sustaining life at one point or another, in our system alone?
An interesting thought.
