Antichrist daniel7- is it true?

I'm just wondering, where is the linkage?

Okay- so whatever this horn is, it is bad (note I do know and believe the adventist definition but last time I said it, I got the thread deleted)

But is it the antichrist?

It never says the word "antichrist" in it, so can we really go around saying its the antichrist?

Infact, where does the bible mention a specific antichrist as such?

John speaks in a few places about the antichrist (in a little bit different context than Adventists view Daniel 7), and he even says that there are many antichrists:

1 JN 2:18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

1 JN 2:20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. 21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22 Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist--he denies the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

1JN 4:1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

2JN 1:7 Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. 8 Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. 9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. 11 Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work.

While the little horn of Daniel works against Jesus and His followers and is definitely an antichrist power (against Christ), the Bible does not limit the spirit of antichrist to that one specific application.

The term antichrist means more than being against Christ.

It also means standing in the place of Christ.

This is what the RCC priest does when a person makes confession to him and acts a a mediator on that persons behalf.

When the Pope makes the claim that he is the representative of God on this earth.

That is standing in the ploace of Christ which makes him the antichrist.

This information does not sit well with many people including some SDA's who think the RCC has changed.

Believe me there has been no real change.

yes, anti is actually a greek prefix, suggesting in place of, etc.

The term is applied generally in John as seen above. However, the Bible does clearly speak of a last day wicked man in several places.

You already mentioned the little horn of Daniel 7, then there is the Beast power in Revelation 13, and then also later in revelation, And there is the "man of sin" or "man of lawlessness" in Thessalonians:

2Th 2:1 Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers,
2Th 2:2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.
2Th 2:3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
2Th 2:4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.
2Th 2:5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?
2Th 2:6 And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time.
2Th 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.
2Th 2:8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.
2Th 2:9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders,

These are all taken together and referenced by the term "antichrist" though as you note, the term isn't found in those passages save the one in John.

Looking at your question we must decide what is an "antichrist"

We see that it is not only someone who is against Christ but is a person or organization that claims to take the place of Christ.

If we look at the RCC we see that this is what they claim.

Do their actions support such a claim?

I believe so.

The RCC demands that their members confess their sins to a priest.

Yet God alone can forgive sins.

There is much more but that is enough for a start.

That does not mean that every RC is regarded as an antichrist.

Let me say that many memebers of the RCC are genuine Christians and do not realize exactly what their leaders are saying and what it all means.

In the make up of those that will be saved the RCC may make up the majority of the saved. Wouldn't that be just fantastic.

You look at today how many people belong to their Church it only stands to reason that they could well make up the largest group of the saved.
