  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There Are antibiotics that are Not considered safe during pregnancy or nursing. However any doctor worth his/her salt is going to prescribe something that's ok (although you have to really be proactive when you're breastfeeding to get the right ones).

I totally agree with taking probiotics, acidopholus, or similar while on antibiotics.

Yup. I asked about Zithromiacin, which is what I always take when I have sinus infections (once a year - fun) and the dr said that it's not been tested enough for him to feel comfortable giving me an Rx for it, so we'd rather watch my reaction with the Cipro since I am allergic to the Penacillin family... and thankfully I did ok!

He said that Cipro's been monitored over here for over 30 years and with really good results, no harm to the child etc... and with sinus infections you have to be proactive as they can spread, get worse and require further treatment that can put pregnancy at risk (totally agree as I know this since they're recurrant during this season of the year).

Just always ask questions, don't be afraid to do your own research and you and your dr and nurses put your collective heads together. that's always best. :)

It's always, always good to be proactive and one step ahead.

Yeah, I would have been put on that had I not had a severe allergic reaction before.... never ever again!

I don't want to do the rolling on the carpet, itchy swelling 'I wanna die' reaction ever again. (I was 9)

It's a pity with the antibiotics I can't have more considering the good they can do.. but I seem to be allergic to all but a handful (Penacillins, anything Sulfa-related, Ceclor)
