And how much sense does it make for any atheists to insultingly bait, us Christians to discuss anything with you, when your only response peppering your comments is "it doesn't even make sense". - Were you the least bit interested in any real discussions, you would at least ask questions, but all you want to do is continue insulting. Too, were I half as inept of "biology & anatomy" as you sought belittling, surely I would never have been given opportunity to successfully help in the 3 human-development areas I do. - Fortunately in the real world, are people much better behaved, who actually constructively learn to realize their possibilities. You could respond to my post #60, or you could defend your claim that ice skaters growing wings has anything to do with what evolutionary theory actually says. Since you know so much about human development, how about we start with this - where would the wings on a terrestrial tetrapod develop and from what structures or were you suggesting ice skaters would tranform their arms into wings?

When we get that resolved, perhaps we can discuss whether scuba divers might develop gills and how or whether bicyclists will develop wheels and how.

One, no it doesn't and two, even if it did, all it means is Solomon didn't know about biological classifcation. Hardly a surprise really.

Er. No, that does not say we are not apes. It simply says that the reason we are upright *now* is God. It does not say we have never walked on all four. It does not say we were created as static creatures the way we are today. This verse does not in any way challenge the theory of evolution in the slightest. It can at best be considered a reflection on our current evolutionary state. It does not say anything about our biological classification, our history as a species or anything apart from the *now*. And even though this was written in Solomo's days, that is still a short timeframe.

Incorrect use of terms again. I know that you are really fixed on taking sentences out of context and having them mean what you want them to say... but here "upright" does not mean "walking on two feet", but "truthfull, righteous"

If you weren´t so set on "KJV only" and read some other translations, you might get some interesting insight.

In this case, Martin Luther, the great German translator of the Bible, got it correct: the corresponding german term for "upright" here is "aufrichtig", not "aufrecht".

No, but our genes DO tell us we are apes. And the bible doesn't tell us we're NOT... So the answer to this "dillemma" is quite simple; We're apes. Just like every other species of apes we are different from all the others, but we're still apes. Apes with large brains, the ability to speak and straight backs. But still apes.

And how is this in conflict with us evolving from single cell organisms which can easily be called 'dirt' given what we now a lot of what dirt is is bacteria and other small organisms? How would evolution be explained to our forefathers if not this way? It's a parable sure enough.

The Bible doesn't portray us as evolving from single-cell organisms, but coming into existence as incipients.

In other words, having no predecessors.

why should we show particular respect to English, as opposed to any other translation. If God did dictate the bible, then he certainly didn't do it in modern English.
