CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm either naive or stupid, but I always assume that people don't mean to come across as harshly as they sound.

No. I don't believe in rewarding bad behavior with silence. I usually combat it with humor instead. But, occasionally, when someone is say, emotionally immature or emotionally damaged, I'll leave, so that my presence won't be so much of a temptation for them to repeat the behavior. Or put them on ignore, so that I don't see all their incessant ranting.

I'm not a big cheese fan. I don't really like any dairy products all that much.

I certainly do! And I feel a lot younger than I am. And people say I don't look nearly as old as I am...plus I act like a kid, so...

Well, you know how it is. You get to a certain age, and all the years start to run together.
I try for 10 but don't beat myself up if it's closer to 11. (although lately, with this cough, sleep has eluded me. )
