CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How to adopt a pet? Is that what you are asking?
Hey Dave! The shelter tries to ensure that people who adopt a pet will be able to give the pet a good home. But I'm not sure how well they check. Basically, you have to pay an adoption fee, which is small, and then sign papers agreeing to get your pet neutered. But I don't think they check your background, history, or anything like that. This is Texas. We have some extreme conservatives here who would howl if Big Brother checks into too much of their lives. You should see the howling that's going on right now because our city wants to install cameras at red lights and take pictures of people going through the light. You'd think they had an intrinsic right to go through the red light anytime they want, and who cares how many people get killed!

Ostriches? We raise them in Texas, but I haven't seen any lately. Are there any ostriches here?

Trying to do the right thing.
Don't you think using recycled materials (tires, etc.) for boots and things would be better than killing any living animal for clothing unless there is no alternative?
