  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Another word on one of Charlie Kirk's views: RACE.

And this other word I'm passing along here is actually what former Police Office Tatum shares about his perspective on Charlie Kirk's views on race.

I think this brief video is timely (it's about 13 minutes long), and as someone inclined toward social science and mutual understanding among everyone, I appreciate what Officer Tatum expresses about his own experiences and interpretations regarding what Charlie Kirk thought and for which a variety of different understandings float around.

Note too: This will be the only other Charlie Kirk related video I will be sharing. I'm praying for Peace, Order and Humanity for everyone on all sides of the political spectrum. God Bless America! Thank you, The Officer Tatum!

Factcheck has some sources on what Kirk has (and hasn't) said. Relevant ones on the Civil Rights Act and "Jewish Money".

The Guardian with some others, many of which are relevant.

I dunno... I can see how some of the comments could be taken as racist, but it all seems a little weak. I find some of his other comments to be much more offensive.

I have zero doubts at all in my mind that Charlie Kirk is NOT a racist.
Liberalism pretty much dictates that anyone who's a conservative republican Christian white male is a racist, a bigot, a xenophobe, prejudiced, a misogynist, a homophobe, an islamophobe, a supremacist etc etc.

Speaking as a liberal, you're incorrect.

Perhaps you simply do not understand what "liberalism" actually is, or what it is liberals actually believe. You may want to ask a liberal about that, if you truly wish to know.

Okay.

I was under the impression that intolerance of LGBT was a big issue for Kirk, not racism. Have some people been accusing him of being racist?

Apparently, there has been some report of it being the case in some circles. But I'm still in the process of vetting things out since I wasn't very familiar with all that Charlie Kirk did, thought, or represented until last week.

Don’t be silly. You can’t paint a specific demographic with one brush. Stop doing it.

No, he has not.

Compiled by the Guardian:

If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 23 January 2024
If you’re a WNBA, pot-smoking, Black lesbian, do you get treated better than a United States marine?
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 8 December 2022
Happening all the time in urban America, prowling Blacks go around for fun to go target white people, that’s a fact. It’s happening more and more.
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 19 May 2023
If I’m dealing with somebody in customer service who’s a moronic Black woman, I wonder is she there because of her excellence, or is she there because of affirmative action?
– The Charlie Kirk Show, 3 January 2024
If we would have said that Joy Reid and Michelle Obama and Sheila Jackson Lee and Ketanji Brown Jackson were affirmative action picks, we would have been called racists. Now they’re coming out and they’re saying it for us … You do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously. You had to go steal a white person’s slot to go be taken somewhat seriously.

There are ways to do that that don't involve making racist comments. Also, two of those have nothing to do with DEI.

It is not racist to mention the race of 80% of those receiving benefits by race.

Its also not barist to select lawyers who actually passed the bar exam. (Yes really, washington state).

These are real issues that must be dealt with.

If (race) is intrinsically more violent because they lack neanderthal dna from 120,000 years ago. These problems will get worse not better. In a sense, we are falling already to manage this problem.

He did not make racist comments. Also, the enforcement and growth of affirmative action directly led to DEI policies.

There’s a wiki that’s rational (they claim), that has a page on “Just Asking Questions”.

Kirk’s approach to race was to eliminate it from our national conversations.
Sounds great, don’t it?
[Some] whites are tired of having to consider other people, and will defend their rights to go back to a time when they didn’t have to think about ”race” so much!
