another what if?

for the first what if thread it's here
anyway, this time it's sort of the opposite. suppose we created AI. fully sentient, intelligent AI. how should we act towards them, being their creators? what kind of relationship should we have? do we teach them a new or different morality code, since many things that apply to us might not apply to them?

ps i just finished watching a few hours worth of animatrix and ghost in the shell...
