Yes, the Bible is difficult to understand. That is the point I am trying to make. We have to be born again and a new creation in Christ. We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and lead by the God in what we do, say or think. He is our Comfort, Guide and Teacher. He can rescue, save, heal and deliver us. I never heard anyone make that claim. I think that is something you are projecting onto them. IN FACT Paul makes it clear that this is how we can know who is and who is not of God. The divisions show us that. This shows us who is and who is not lead by the Holy Spirit of God.

You would need to stretch it into a moral position. The argument made was about regular moral topics and its true that Christians disagree about almost anything.
And you can find many liberal Christians who do not believe in God, they just claim to be Christians due to traditional reasons and moral principles. This is common for example in Scandinavia.
