  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Another reason to hate Nickelback

I actually kinda like Nickelback... maybe their songs sound the same, but I still like that particular sound.

It's certainly not one of those cd's I can keep in my player and repeat it over and over and over... but it makes it's way in there every once in a while.

To each his own, I suppose.

I've like Nickelback since they released Curb. Their music doesn't sound the same. It has the same feel but there is certainly a distinct difference between the two. That point is unfortunately lost on people with short attention spans and those who don't have any musical inclination in their bodies whatsoever.

I agree with the "To each his own" statement. Music is very much a matter of tastes and opinions. I do find it rather intriguing, however, that nearly every post except for goat's seems to be the same regurgitated drivel from every other post in the secular music forum modified ever so slightly to fit this particular thread. You hobby horses need to find some new material.

Yeah, I know; today's pop music is sometimes too easy of a target. I agree completely with "to each his own," however, as you do. I honestly see nothing wrong with liking Nickelback; if somebody likes it, it's worth something. That does not, of course, mean I'll be liking them anytime soon ;)

But at least when you dislike a particular artist, you can give solid reasons for it that are your own original thoughts. Unlike some of the mindless droolers in the forum that would rather imitate your sentiments rather than using that mushy lump three feet above their butts.

Your opinion carries authority because you have conviction. Theirs warrants nothing more than an eye roll.

That link doesn't work; says I don't have permission.

Nickleback do kind of sound the same...but I really don't mind them. I like Feeling Way Too Damn Good, See You At The Show, Never Again...yeah they sound the same on a few fronts but nonetheless I enjoy them.
