I've been lurking in this section over the last few months, while my dh was getting sicker. He was finally diagnosed with Hodgkins, but the few treatments the doctor tried couldn't stop it from wracking all over his body. So, it's been almost 9 days now.
The funeral planning was a whirlwind, but everyone told me I'd done well there. It was cheap monetarily, but rich in song. I have that username for a reason! And now I'm in the process of getting paperwork done, and it's CRAZY! I haven't opened all my cards yet; I don't want that to end.
I'm 36, he was 32. So I'm another young widow. We didn't have any children; that didn't work out for a number of reasons. Most days that's a blessing that I'm not now a single parent, but there are times I wonder how it would've been. Our dog is a comfort to me.
Well, I've been inspired by reading other stories of those widowed younger than me. When seeing that I just qualify for a survivor benefit that starts at age 35, I started praying for all of you who are younger than that!
So, here I am, starting my new journey here, and I hope I can both give and receive encouragement.
